that pipe is part of the charcoal canister evap system, it vents fumes from the canister to the throttle body to help start the engine.

oh, i was under the impression that all 400 series 2.0 engines after 93 where fitted with the aux pump in an attempt to stop overheating, after volvo got rid of the oil injector things (the red / green dipstick malarky). ah well was worth a try, might just have to ask volvo for a new one

been a 92 i doubt it will be a blue ecu, will more likely be a purple or red. the ecu is located in the bottom of the centre console, pull back the carpet on the drivers side of the center console (uk models that is) and it's in a black polystyrene holder, look at the colour of the bosh label on it.

As stated im in need of a turbo alternator, no aircon!

The car is a 94, and has a valeo fitted atm but it has gotten lazy. have fitted a new voltage reg and brush pack but still isnt kicking out the right voltage (wont make more that 12.6v)
