I always thought that was normal with these cars, certainly for mine...Jay-Kay-Em wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:05 amOh my, the poor thing!
Sadly, if condensated instruments aren't an alarm bell, I don't know what is.

So Vactan does work...
I have been using it to quell the arches bubbling on mine (it has begun) and have not been convinced of its effectiveness (largely down to me not having the wheel off to apply it )

Re: E10 Fuel
Well, here's a report from mainland Europe, where E10 has been introduced a couple of years ago. I've been driving my daily car, a Volvo V70, for almost 4 years now and have recorded fuel consumption right from the start. In 2018 I've driven from the Netherlands to Norway (with a ferry from Kiel to...

Hi Espada, Firstly, not sure how an increase can be from 24 to 18mpg, unless you meant that the other way around? I presume you are an Arts & Humanities student Ben?  French, Business and Computer Science my dear fellow, last time I checked an increase was from a smaller number to a bi...

Re: E10 Fuel
Hi Espada, Firstly, not sure how an increase can be from 24 to 18mpg, unless you meant that the other way around? Personally I am planning to run E5 in mine where I can, though I have a dreadful feeling forecourts are going to put the price up because they can and older cars need it. While the 480 i...

Wow I can feel the glee coming through the screen of my phone reading about that bolt heater!
That vent control panel is different to mine, either this is one of the last of that style or mine is one of the first of the simplified style (no buttons)

Re: Oh look, another high price
Then again, a 480 Turbo in this condition is becoming increasingly rare. Even in its native country they're still snapped up by the banger racers and for engine transplants into Renault 5 Turbo. The car has become too rare and has proven too difficult to maintain for the boy racer brigade, who used...

Re: A wheel arch issue
So Vactan has been applied with hairdryer. I am not totally sure how well it would work, there was more dry dirt in the arches than I would have liked, and I am not sure if it will have much effect or how to know if it is working. What's more I don't know if it will be enough. When it goes in for th...

Re: A wheel arch issue
I did think about that, how long before it is safe for freezing? The car lives outside and therefore I have to ensure it is ok to work overnight, putting rainX on the glass led to a frozen silicone mush inside and out

Re: A wheel arch issue
Good news is, Vactan has arrived. Bad news, it is too cold to use it (apparently can't be below 10 degrees) Thinking of putting a chalk wash on the affected areas to neutralise any salt and stop it getting worse. Anyone got any better ideas? well that rules out Vactan for any outside use this far n...
