Re: Info centre- Engine temperature & external temperature

The -40 reading of ext. temp. indicates open circuit. Maybe just the lead disconnected at the sensor behind the front grille.

It would be more useful if you posted an actual picture rather than a link to ten pages of thumbnails.

Re: info center

It sounds to me very much like poor connection in the two multi plugs at the back. Probably best to remove the dash panel and take them off and give them a good squirt of contact cleaner. Worked on mine when I had the same problem.

Since this is a site for owners of Volvo 480's and not for people who simply use bits for modifying other cars, I personally hope that you will quietly leave.

All I know is that there is a special method of bleeding the brakes on an ABS car, but I don't know what it involves. Maybe time to talk to your friendly Volvo dealer.

I assume you mean change up. Since it depends very much on the load on the engine at the time, there's no fixed revs/speed. The lighter you are on the throttle, the earlier it will change: but surely you know that already.

Yes, I know where Tamworth is; I agree it's not far from Walsall (not walsal), I was asking where Tamwoth was. :D
And why does no-one bother to use upper case letters any more?

If you check out a price for the ECU's ill know after Wednesday what i need to do. With regards to the bonnet, i have a fibreglass one. Heres the car as it is now (WIP) and below ...

Hmmm, now why am I not surprised? That's what happens when you run 25psi of boost.

If the forum wasn't invaded from time to time by people pinching our engines for use in other makes it'd be even quieter. If that's referring to me, I'm not putting the engine in my Clio now, after driving the car it's lovely and I've decided I'm keeping it... No, not specifically aimed at you, jus...

Just waiting for the report of a blown engine then. The boost control solenoid has obviously been removed, thereby disabling the safety built in by Volvo.
