All looks as it should for a EURO car up to 1988.
Up to 1988 as A is round (after that it was square) and EURO as B is a bridge (Netherlands, Norway and GB had a relay but for different reasons) and all this means that C is your “Inhibitor Relay, Headlights”.

It should have a bracket. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/m9Sy0z7FAWidZ89VgqPGnp4-bo36mvGFcxxrTua2UviHmLyaGViY-kO03O0FprrhbBJm-iy2hGZ7Qerbwz_fjRd7RDIBMM2kz84VJHXlCwKdENfdiRN4EKmD9Xb8IefW-cfSKIu8vv-4z1O75OF8cNMBxMx_OMvOnoN1GPJntTGjCsMSJJk1jPdf_F2DvrXhN7etl6a991aGLhyl5Aa0xymQ-grz8iSVxllOQAyIGKlEhGqI...

Re: Dendy's 480 Diary
Thanks for the info on the pressure sensor. If my other car is salvageable and I can find the gauges that will be very useful. I'll certainly bear that in mind - in my case, I can see where a wire has been pushed in between the glass and the seal which may or may have not started the crack, but it w...

Re: Dendy's 480 Diary
I also believe the earlier models and/or the Autos had a different design for the rear mount. My 93 2 litre manual has two different design mounts - this is the other one http://www.dragonflyjewel.co.uk/sylvia/gearboxmount.jpg Thats the one. No idea which cars got what then as my 1989 Auto has that...

Re: Rear Brake overhaul
Your correct: Central adjuster is for stretch adjustment. Calipers for Pad wear. BUT.... you have to get both right. It's easy to overcompensate one or the other. That is useful to know for when my car goes back together. The rears got put back on but as the fronts were coming off and I wasn’t sure...

Re: Dendy's 480 Diary
Fortunately, FAE have a compatible unit that is pretty easy to get hold of, although not cheap. That’s useful to know. Do you have a part number? I suppose the idea is that shearing forces will be minimal and most of the weight will be going straight downward, at least that's the theory. I believe ...

Re: Rear Brake overhaul
A good how to. Just to confirm, is the adjuster in the middle of the car under the handbrake for cable stretch adjustment and the adjusters in the callipers for pad wear? Not sure all new brake discs are supposed to have the protective coating cleaned off, the ones I brought for the rear specificall...

Re: Fuel pump has no power
I had forgotten that the reg changed in August back then so was much less likely to be a late registered 87 model. (Although I do have a story of a 2002 pre-facelift S60 not being registered till 2007 well post-facelift). I was asking what the shape of the top relay was inside the relay box not the ...

Re: Fuel pump has no power
Which relay have you changed? Please describe its position. Second an F reg should be 1988 but could be a late registered 1987 so it could have one of two relay layouts. Looking at the top of the pyramid of relays in the relay box under the bonnet is it round or is it square with a plastic connector...

Re: The Current State II – The Rust Strikes Back
Initial look over has revealed the following. Can’t look underneath till I can get it in the garage. Good. Info centre works, but only just visible. Idle seams ok. Cloth seats in generally good condition. Rear speakers. Door pockets intact. Sunroof works (providing it’s only supposed to tilt and not...

Re: 460 remote central locking would fit a 480?
Looking at the parts lists that unit is for both the remote central locking and alarm system (there should also be another electronic unit (7)) for the 440/460. The 480 didn’t use this system. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/NDaCs4ACQlYu2eWVUo6MgGv39W581jtai19FA_1K4hwuRqHvUCbaGsB8Dxfwlbp4Fx3K0K981...

Re: The Current State - A Lotta Hope
Getting close to the engine coming out. https://vgy.me/sVK10z.png Glad I made the decision to remove it and other things in the end because there seems to be light rust behind everything I remove, some can be seen here and some can’t. This (along with the sequel) has slowed things down and to make m...

Re: The Current State II – The Rust Strikes Back
If your current indicators are clear, you could probably sell them for what you paid for the spares car! Probably could, however the clear ones will IMHO look far better on smoked silver than the orange and white looks ok with either colour. And if I can’t save this one I’ll keep them for th...

The Current State II – The Rust Strikes Back
Well I have my second 480. In an ideal world it would have been a Turbo Auto with air con or a Celeb Auto, with a new MOT that I could bring to the next meet and be my daily car. It is an Auto so one box ticked. However it’s not a Turbo or a Celeb, doesn’t have air con and the MOT ran out a couple o...

Re: For Sale : Door Card Clips
Not sure I should get involved but I could see this confusion coming and as it’s not being done over PM. The items were advertised as “1pc = 1GBP + post” and “1 GBP/pc + post” my understanding is that is Per Piece not Per Bag. That is a total of £53 (35 used pieces and 18 new pieces) for the parts p...

Re: Tidy looking Ebay offering
Are you thinking of a fleet or buying and selling ? My plan at the moment is to have two. One as an occasional car kept as original as I can keep it and another as a daily use that will have a few mods. If you're planning a restoration business, can my 2 litre be first in the queue ? After 230,000 ...

Re: Tidy looking Ebay offering
Go on Dave - you know you want to! ;) David Well, it looks like it sold anyway (gone off eBay). Hopefully we will hear about a sympathetic light restoration on these pages... Well decision made. Sometimes things are for the best and at least I don’t have to tell my better half there’s another 480 o...
