He said he was trying to give his best Partridge.

Although he really should have given it some Woolarding!
Haha. I’ll add this when it’s out and he’s home again!

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto - VOL 480T

Haha, oooooh I love a good cleaning challenge! With the plate, I got the V750 (certificate for VOL 480T) last week. I tried to go online right away and put FOX 480B on retention but it said I couldn't do this online and I needed to do it by mail (it was between 7am and 7pm. I'm guessing they want to...

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto - VOL 480T

Exhaust day! Well, they didn't do what was going to be done. Although he did quote that with it on the ground. So, cat back and shiny tail. Sound, if anything, is quieter but that's ok by me. Another preservation job done. I've also not seen underneath it since before it had all the work in January ...

Haha, glad it's a fixable problem. It's not a real 480 event if someone doesn't have a story to tell when they get back!

Re: Hampshire-Lincolnshire Meet 7th - 8th Aug 21

Oooh, I only just noticed the date has changed for this! Great.

I’ll book us in at Northampton for the Saturday night (once I check my diary and make sure I’m free!)

Is this the same Travelodge to meet at on the Sunday morning as before?

Welcome 😁 Also.... I’m sure if any members were close-ish by to the car/yourself they’d be more than happy to pop and look for you too and let you know if the car is A: Salvageable B: Worth the asking price (you can plough a good few sacks of 50s into a 480 to get it reliable/roadworthy!) and C: Wha...

Can't believe you managed to bag the plate! Well done you! :D He's looking absolutely stunning! That's going to be you,James, Al and Sylvia parking in the shiny car corner whilst us mere mortals slum it in the filthy corner. Then, of course, the lines of satisfaction. Oooooooh Yeah! that's what we ...

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto - VOL 480T

Helloooo! I've spent all day today on the car. I bought a DA polisher a few months ago in the hope it would help with all the bird poo acid from being left out all last summer (I'll never let it go! :cryhard: It's contributed to the rust that's appeared in a few places for sure). I've been up and do...

Re: Is this Petrol Blue?

Sold for less than £350 I think in 2007. Never mot’d again :(

But, looking at the history, it looked to have the dreaded corrosion. Pretty on the outside!

Re: Is this Petrol Blue?

I'd say definitely Paris blue. This was my first 480. Registered 9 Oct 1991. Facelift but not far in. That image also looks to have the smaller 'post' wing mirrors. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/ACtC-3dXIc5u5DTIJle-xYsOH5fWEjdmTd0eDme9mKqJ0Y218RkpKpWAz7bOswx-xbZxMxu399-01Aw8OtoVEowY_hckwEqaD9...

Re: 1990 Turbo Auto

Just got 4 new tyres on the C30. Now looks like the wheels need refurbing. They look terrible, I never really noticed until today! So off goes the 480 again. Back to Andy not far away. New discs and pads all round, new caliper pin for a dodgy one, rear hubs and maybe a new regulator going in as the ...

Re: AA vs RAC breakdown recovery services

Hi Martin I have used both. I find Start Rescue to be the best, cheapest and fasted as they use a network of recovery companies. They are fine with the age of the 480, you might find the AA/RAC won't cover it due to age. I have called out the RAC to my other cars a few times, one time I waiting six ...

Re: Forthcoming changes to petrol for older cars

I’ve tried to ask Google simple questions but never seem to get the correct answers! I think there are some fuels that say they are between 0-5% ethanol (from what I read) and I believe V-Power is 5%. I’ve been using V-Power in my 480 since I bought it. I think a few others do. To be honest, I think...
