Scott has saved my GT from the scrappage scheme - yeh. Now got to get on with sorting the TT brakes and dealing with mortgage application, buyer's solicitors questions etc etc but when done the TT will look good around the streets of Boscombe (and the new surf reef).

As someone is going to buy the GT (saving it from the scrappage scheme) I need to get the TT on the road and phoned Volvo. Apparently there is a repair kit for teh rusted pin for just over £20 so as Ted says I will drill down teh carrier and fit the pin - news when it's done - before we move hous...

I'm still looking for a nearside frame for the brake caliper. The frame has the slidy pins in.

I'm a duh - haven't opened one for a while and forgotten one was blue.
I will give it a good 'rattle'. Also driving today I have lost an offside indicator so bulb checking tomorrow - along with house hunting - not a good time to be troubleshooting.

Where is the blue relay?
Th fuses have sorted nearly evrything including the DRL but I would like to check the relay out.

Need to sell, before I am tempted by the scrappage scheme - and I have a Two Tone waiting to get on the road.

Its says Volvo Girling, I think Girling have combined with Lucas but I only need the carrier with the slidy pins - the bottom slidy pin can suffer from rust and so seize up.

Thank you for the thoughts ted clutch. I considered drilling down but would rather get a new/used carrier as I suspect the whole inside of the slider housing is rusted beyond reuse. Raffadakis - seeing you come from Basel - I work near Kaiseraugst occasionally (3 times a year) and saw a 480 padlocked to a lampost once - was this yours?

Having sheared off the end of the sliding pin (rusted solid) I need as a minimum the frame including at least one sliding pin. The frame is called a caliper carrier. Its a Girling ie non ABS, for a L reg two tone.

I suspect that ABS is ATE and Non ABS is Girling as the caliper says Volvo Girling on it.
I agree I do not need a complete assembly including piston and all but it seems that is teh only way to buy - all I really need is the solid frame bit with the sliding pin assembly.

Just trying to remove the calipers to change front discs on teh TT and found the sliding pins had seized. In trying to loosen one of them it sheared off so now I need a new caliper for front LH. The caliper shows as Girling but on ebay calipers are advertised for the 480 as ATE and one place asked m...
