Re: 1992 480 Turbo
Thanks chaps! I got a pair of bushes/TRE and ball joint included with the car and my friendly local garage usually press bushes in/out for me. The driver's side had all been done before I bought it along with shocks/springs and droplinks. I've been working my way through undersealing the whole car, ...

Re: 1992 480 Turbo
Problems solved and MoT passed :D Changed the oil to semi-synth instead of fully synth and no more smoke! Kudos to my mate Colin the genius mechanic! Rear calipers swapped for new ones and brake fluid changed. The garage aimed my headlight and sent me home with a years ticket! π I hope to drive it f...

Re: hand-brake warning light 1993
Does this light not also cover the brake fluid level sensor in the brake fluid tank?
I unplugged mine to change the fluid and it lit the ABS and brake warning light beside it. Mine is a '92 though...

Re: 1992 480 Turbo
I've not compression tested it but I've changed the oil and filter/air filter and the plugs are nearly new. I drove it home 160 miles and did 30 miles last week before it's MoT so I would have thought that was enough to clear it's pipes out? There was definitely no smoke during it's drive home but I...

Re: 1992 480 Turbo
Hi James, no it's a J reg. Seems to have been off the road for 3 years and before that covering 100 miles between MoT some years! Anyway, I stuck the Turbo in for a speculative Mot today, got off fairly lightly! Usual handbrake/headlight aim fail but slightly concerning was that it emitted blue smok...

Re: Scotland Mobile Mini Meet August 17TH 2019
I'd be sorely tempted to try that, our local Mot tester hates me anyway thanks to all the random rubbish cars that I drag in every year

1992 480 Turbo
Well, I found a loving new home for my GT and that freed up driveway space for this, 480 number 8 iirc π Bought from a chap 400 miles away based on some grainy photos and a vague description! I got it collected by a transport company who my mate knows. The first time I saw it was when I had to drive...

Re: Scotland Mobile Mini Meet August 17TH 2019
I'd hoped to attend this but can't get a new windscreen for my Turbo and therefore no Mot!
My wife is also away on Saturday climbing a Munro so can't even cadge a lift with someone else.
Definitely next year though

Are you selling a turbo Jiffy? I could be interested in a swap if it was almost roadworthy

480 GT
Anyone fancy buying my GT? Obviously I live miles away but I'm 20 mins from Inverness airport and there's some great driving roads up here π I've been offered a project 480 that's going to be difficult to turn down π― 1994 480 GT, only 21 left on the road of original 250 sold. MoT'd for 10 months (Ap...

Re: Is it electrical.....?
I had a parasitic battery drain in mine that I traced to the aftermarket radio. It would drain the battery in a couple of days if the car was unused.

Re: Speedo Fix failed - What to try next?
I had the same issue with my 94 GT and it was the speedo cable plug under the airbox that was at fault.
The wiring was snapped as in the post above. I cut the plug off both ends and soldered the ends together.
Works perfectly

Cancel that, just re-read that the speedo works but the odometer doesn't. Sorry, ignore me!

Re: 480 GT breaking for parts!
Slightly off topic but I had a non functioning speedo in my GT. I traced the fault to speedo cable connection plug under the airbox, just on top of the gearbox.
It had deteriorated inside the loom and I only found the snapped cable when I removed some insulation.
I'll try and host a pic...
