Re: I might have discovered why the rear wiper won't park..
Well I've fixed it for now by soldering together the broken wire and putting some heat shrink over it. I have also re insulated the other wires with electrical tape as they look a state but are actually still holding ok. I then just wrapped up the whole thing with electrical tape until I get the cor...

Re: Just broke my drivers seatbelt arm. :-(
Call Lakes Volvo, it's a Volvo only scrapyard— they may have one. It'd be easier if you were driving past to stop and look yourself but they may be able to post parts if you ask. They have about 10 seriously dead 480s in. The majority don't have arms (I've looked) but you might be lucky if they hav...

How is the black plastic front grill section with the fog lights? I may take that off your hands.
Oh and if you have any seat belt arms and nice front and rear clusters I'm also interested.
Cheers!

Thanks a lot Jim!glasgowjim wrote:Hi spree I have a few heater control knobs spare. Been busy this weekend so I was unable to look out the other parts you were looking for.
Looks like I'm going to have to get the dremel out and have a go at repairing the seat belt arms in a similar way to what Van did.

Well I just called up the dealer to be told that they are unavailable now as I'm sure some of you must know already!
I also tried to order a new heater control knob and these are gone now too.

Maybe you can repair it? Look here: http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=14868&start=20 bottom post. Thanks for that Van Hmm well I don't think he has done a very good job there but I do actually think I might be able to do better. EDIT just realised that was you Van. I meant ...

Just broke my drivers seatbelt arm. :-(
Well I have been running around trying to make things safe all bloody day before the "worst storm in 25 years' hits... I go to park my car around the back of my house and the neighbours builders have left all kinds of potentially hazardous items lying around and I have to try to tidy it up or risk s...

OK so I have now swapped it and all seems well again! Yay! Doingitsideways I would love to take that sensor off your hands then? Below is a picture of the old one just to make sure. Do you have a set of my warm white LED DRL's already? I will gladly trade you the sensor for a set of those? Then its ...

Re: Footwell lighting!
If I come across any posts looking for info on footwell lights I will direct them to this thread. Gj mod Nice one. It's such an easy and useful mod actually. Especially with the 480's weak interior lighting. I just added the info that if anybody fancies doing this mod then they can get the strips f...

No, if anything it was, and indeed still is running cool. Mine never gets above about 83°c as the fan cuts in. I don't trust the guage, to be honest I think the sender is goosed! Steve :hopping: Yeah I think it must be that. It has all the classic symptoms from what I am learning. I'm going to swap...
