Re: 2.0 Turbo
Thought I'd throw in my 2 cents on the comment about the origin of the B18, B18-T and B20. The B18 engines are all based around Renaults F2N 1.7 block. The B20 is the only one based on an F3, the F3R 2.0. Also I believe the 2.0 has the Combustion chamber partly in the head as well as in the Piston. ...

Re: 305 Black Metallic
It's probably best to update this thread for anyone reading it in the future with a similar issue. There are 2 shades or 305 Black Mettalic. A so-called base colour which has a lot of red tint in the mix, hence the purple tone in the sunlight. The other shade has a lot of Blue tint in it, this would...

Re: Vera my sexy Black Beauty
A productive day today in all. Managed to finally fit my Stainless steel exhaust system. I've also added some auxiliary gauges and the correct oil pressure sender. That's one more thing to distract me as I pootle along. I've also given Vera a good service. Changed the oil and filter, new spark plugs...

Re: Vera my sexy Black Beauty
Well it's been a trying week. Was supposed to be getting Vera resprayed this week at the college where my friend works. But due to college politics only the roof got done. However because he was being rushed the whole roof now has to be taken back to primer and sprayed again. Also the baking process...

Re: 1.7 N/A DECAT
I think since last year the rules for MOT changed regarding Catalysers. If it was fitted as original equipment the vehicle has to have one, or it's a fail. I think if you removed the internals you might get away with it, as on looks it still has one. To be honest a lot of people think that fitting a...

Re: Not starting at all :(
always best to check the fuse, should be number 12.
If it's not it could be a loose connection or a damaged wire.

Re: Not starting at all :(
to me that seems like the coil inside the main relay for the fuel pump has no voltage. If there's no voltage to the coil the relay wont switch and wont activate the fuel pump. You stated previous that you bypassed the relay to get the fuel pump to work. This would be triggering the fault code, there...

Re: Not starting at all :(
The fuel rail is above the inlet, between the curve in the manifold. You'll probably have to take the top half of the intake manifold off the get access to it. If you remove it and crank the engine but no fuel comes out don't just assume a blockage. Inspect the crank sensor. If this is faulty the EC...

Re: Parts Wanted
I've managed to get some calipers and carriers, just need to give them a quick referb.
Whilst I'm posting I need the connector linkage for the back of the centre black vent. The rod that links all the movable vanes together.
My replacement didn't have one and mine is damaged.

I believe S/R stands for Sun Roof. It might refer to the Moon roof having been fitting after importation. :? I have a N/A 1.7 too and love to just boot it. What your experiencing is Torque, Volvo tuned the Renault engines for more torque. After about 3500rpm the power will start to come in. That's h...

Re: Vera my sexy Black Beauty
Been another long day today. Collected from the post office the nearly new driver's door mirror sent by Glasgowjim. Will get round to fitting it soon I hope, after I get it resprayed Black. The rest of the day I've been fettling around with the spare bonnet and the snow scoop. And so after quite a f...

Re: Vera my sexy Black Beauty
Well I collected the parts from Stourbridge. Got the rear side and rear windows tinted. All was going well until today that is. Decided to wash Vera; and whilst drying her, her driver's side wing mirror surrounds decided to depart. Wasn't even touching them at the time. Put them back on but some of ...

Re: Vera my sexy Black Beauty
Well todays been a long day. Been awake since 4am. :bored: It's also been a productive day. Thanks to Svenska Axel for fitting a central locking system. though it's more of a panic button for when someone tries to highjack you car with you in it. I've also fitted some LED DRL's courtesy of Spree and...

Re: Vera my sexy Black Beauty
Quick update. Gave Vera a bath today and finally got round to replacing the rear side windows. Half a tube of black silicone bathroom sealant and two grouting guns later, all's well. Will have to check tomorrow to see if they leak, though with the amount of sealant and swearing used they bloody bett...

If you were connecting the positive lead to the earth strap that would explain the lights and speedo as you'll be powering everything via earth. (The speedo is an electrical drive rather that a mechanical cable) Make doubly sure the leads are the correct way round. If you connected the jump leads co...

Re: Space wedge
If the engine wont spin, spins slowly or runs the battery down before starting, it best to get a new battery and also check the Alternator output. To do this get a Multimeter or volt meter, make sure it's on the correct setting (you want 20V on DC current, solid line with dashed line underneath) Fir...

The Hausser spoiler is a copy. Talk to member Bodyparts Provided on here, this is his website: http://www.wrcomposites.co.uk/automotive-custom-parts.html He doesn't properly list the Hausser spoiler as the mould doesn't belong to him but he can make one for you £160 plus postage, but I'm collecting ...
