Re: Oil Temp Sensor
well I'm still not sure where it is, I think only turbo's had the oil cooler. My info centre says check as it goes though the sensors but I goes off afterwards. it lingers on the -40 outside air temp but that's because it's not connected. Then everything works as it should, barring the odd glitch. I...

Re: Oil Temp Sensor
Auto? maybe I should have mentioned mine's a manual. lol I'll have a look around that area in the week to see if I can spot anything. I guess seeing as Vera never had an info centre fitted till last month the oil temp sensor wont be connected. the reading is constantly "cold" The outside air temp is...

Re: Help with connector maf volvo b18ft
This is the gist I'm getting from reading your posts. You've brought a B18ft engine with it's ECU and wiring loom. I'm guessing your putting it in a Renault? The ECU has the Orange Connector's. The MAF connector is broken and you want to connect the wires directly, and are looking for which wires to...

If your rear window seals are leaking, as mine were. Just remove them and line the seal with black bathroom sealant and refit. Fixed my leaks.

Re: favorate tyres? Toyo wear?
I always buy Hankooks no matter what car their for. A friend fitted them to an AW11 as he'd burned through his Pirelli's and he said no matter how hard he tried he couldn't get the tail to let go, they had that much grip. He's never brought anything else since, and neither have I.

More importantly what is the electrical connector going through the corner of the boot floor. Mine has that grommet but nothing going through it.

Re: Oil Temp Sensor
I'll keep my eye on the temp readings to get a better idea of what's going on, with your readings in mind. Though at the minute I'm a little bit preoccupied with MPG readings. I just love seeing how bad I am a economical driving. lol Any ideas on the Oil temp sensor? I'd like to get that hooked up a...

Oil Temp Sensor
Hi guys, any idea where the Oil Temp sensor is located? I've recently fitted an Info Centre into my S model, and the Oil temp reading is always cold, so I guess I need to check that I've got one fitted and/or connect the wiring to it. Also I've got a hunch that my Engine temp readings are off. Befor...

Re: Vera my sexy Black Beauty
I don't think it is. The other IC dash board I have doesn't have this connector, it has the holes for it though. I also can't find any plug or wires behind the dash to connect to it. Everything works though apart from the Oil temp which is constantly reading cold.

I've also received some parts thanks to GlasgowJim and now her instruments all seem to work, though the speedo needle needs adjusting. BTW does anyone have a clue as to wha...

Re: Some episodes from the life of my 480
soz to post this in your diary thread but the problem could be a hairline crack in the exhaust, that is closed when it's cold but expands when the exhaust heats up causing the noise.
Just a suggestion, but I've experienced it before on a mk3 Renault Clio.

Re: window screen & rust !
Experiencing a similar thing with my windscreen. A blemish in the top corner that with heat became a crack and now a new blemish in the lower corner on the same side. Was looking to try Autoglass. I just hope there's no rust in there. A friend told me that the blemish look like the glass layers sepa...

There's a Volvo scrapyard in Bedfordshire with 10 480's in. Their called Lakes Volvo, been their myself after a fellow member pointed me there. Re: 2.0 Turbo
I've looked into a lot of possibilities regarding each engine for the 480 when I was looking to compete with one. The best thing for that purpose is to run a standard turbo on a Renault 5 GT-Turbo loom. As it allows manual boost control. For non competition I agree a T4 transplant is the way forward...
