to be fair I think any one scum enough to steal a car will already know that coat hangers open doors. Sorry to hijack - but is there a way to stop this 'trick' working??

pol make sure it is the right ecu you are looking at. The one (RHD) left of the drivers left foot, under the center console is what you need for a richmod.

Sorry if you knew this already, but I didnt realise this at first.

I have found batteries from the scrap yard to be very reliable. Got my current 480T one for a tenner and has done over a year with no problems. Maybe pot luck though?

They are cheap, around £30 I believe - even less. The 480t has an electronically controlled boost controller. The ecu can adjust boost levels (as with the richmod). Replace the electronic boost controller with a manual one. I've found the best way to search this forum is with google, using the si...

yes it is as you described. this is not the same, but looks the same. The one in the link above is plastic on the outside not metal. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORGE-FMCL007P-RECIRCULATING-DUMP-VALVE-AUDI-A3%2FA4%2FTT_W0QQitemZ260418304139QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090528?IMSfp=TL090528141002r21915 but the s...

lol I wonder how long the bakc bumper 'exhaust splitter' lasted :) If you are going for wide arches, wide wheels / different lower offset might help :p

damp inside recirc valve

Just replaced recirc valve with bosh audi tt direct fit - great improvement. The old valve was damp inside. I have a water leak I haven't yet managed to trace. There is damp in passenger footwell but it is only slight compared to the amount of water I am losing. I suspect some water leak in the turb...

I fitted to audi tt recirc valve this morning. It has made a very big obvious difference. No more fluttering and the car is more civilised to drive (less eratic between gears). Nice call ben!

Myself also. From my searches of the site, I don't think it is as simple as a bolt on replacement. I would love someone to tell me, buy this turbo, bolt it on, and it will work -> better.

vagparts.co.uk ??

I have exactly the same issue. With a k&n the sound on gear change is obvious. With the standard filter it was not audible. I would like to change the recirc valve. vagparts.co.uk doesnt seem to load.

I can see how it does help Britain, but only just. Its giving British car factory workers something to build. But like ted said, a lot of the money spent will simply leave the country. I find it quite incredible that at a time when a lot of people have found out they have got too far into debt with ...
