but isn't a recirculation valve the same as a dump valve, but instead of dumping the air to atmosphere dumping it back into the intake ?
does that small quantity of air make that much difference ?!
and how does this explain removing the battery to reset all electronics and problem is suddenly gone ?

Re: very strange occasional engine behaviour
Actually i had to do so. the rubber intake was all cracked and literally fell apart so i had to manufacture one out of aluminum. i managed to 're-do' all the other connections but i thought the dump valve wouldn't have made a difference

Re: very strange occasional engine behaviour
what do I exactly check ? isn't that sealed ?
and by 'recirculation valve' do you mean the dump valve ? mine has been removed and an atmospheric one has been placed instead. Obviously I've also used u bung on the other side.

Re: very strange occasional engine behaviour
If you are still using the EZ210K leave the battery terminal off for a longer period, say at least 20 minutes. This will fully reset the ECU. There will be a moment the event reoccurs. Note the conditions. It will probably be at high load and going off throttle. If so, check the recirculation valve...

**WANTED** turbo fuel pressure regulator
WANTED fuel pressure regulator for a B18FT. Will need shipping to Malta (will not be a problem as it would be a small parcel).

very strange occasional engine behaviour
Hello guys.. My car is acting very weird occasionally. It normally runs very well but sometimes it starts stuttering when on low gears and the idle goes really rough. It feels like suddenly it is running really rich. I've found out that switching off the car and removing the battery terminal and lea...

Re: Turbo problem -- fuel cut when accelerating
I can not investigate further due to lack of time. I give my volvo to a car repair shop. The EZ210K seems to be fine. They found that the distributor was oily and the contacts are burned. The turbo charger is not damaged. I am not shure about that statement, but I do let them repair the ignition pa...

I've got the same problem. But my 480t engine starts delayed and then running normal in idle speed and sometimes cut off immediately. If I accelerate fast, the engine stumbles. I investigate the EZ210K.

I've already tried replacing both ECU's. Still same problem.

Re: Turbo problem -- fuel cut when accelerating
did you replace the fuel-filter? The engine is installed in my Renault 5 so the fuel filter isn't the original size, I had to replace it with a slightly smaller one. I had replaced it just some time ago but maybe as its smaller it needs changing again, or could be its restricting the flow because o...

Re: Turbo problem -- fuel cut when accelerating
I've tried unplugging the ICV (Idle Control Valve) but it did not make any difference (obviously apart from a very low and intermittent idle). I've also tried two other ECU's, to rule out the possibility of one of them being faulty. Still same problem. I've replaced all thin vacuum lines with new si...

Re: Turbo problem -- fuel cut when accelerating
ohhh and I've tried resetting the ECU's too! at first I thought it could be something to do with overboosting (it shouldn't as I have a richmod) so I've left the battrey disconnected for a whole 2 days (I only use the car occasionally) but problem was still there

Turbo problem -- fuel cut when accelerating
Hello there fellas, I've enjoyed my car for some time with no problems but here we go again... When I try to floor it down on a lower gear it accelerates up to 3000rpm and then starts to cut. Seems to be a fuel problem. Car starts up normally and keeps idle very constant at 850 - 900 rpm. It also ru...
