Re: Scotland Mini Meet October 14th 2023

It certainly was quality, we had a wonderful day with interesting enthusiasts to chat to and cold but sunny weather. When we first arrived at the Kelpies, there weren't any 480s but there were 2 guys waiting for us. JohnO's celebration was off the road but he still came along to meet us. The other c...

Re: Coloured headlight surrounds

The dummy foglight also had no bulb holder. Talking to my brother, who was a senior design draughtsman at the Cowley works, all car manufacturers will remove the smallest items, including washers on nuts and bolts if they can. Seems really penny pinching, but then they need enough for hundreds of th...

Re: Snazzy's story

Al and I have been wondering about the weight on multi stories, along with bridges and ferries. I read an article about some countries banning electric cars from underground carparks and ferries due to fire concerns. Then there's tunnels as well. This switch to electric doesn't seem to have been tho...

Re: Snazzy's story

Al and I went to the cinema but it was Snazzy who got the best seat in the house  https://dragonflyjewel.co.uk/sylvia/snazzy/parkingspace.jpg I can well imagine drivers of big fat suvs spitting bricks at the sight of a HUGE space being taken by a dinky little 480 ! No idea where that walkway i...

That looks really good ! Steel grey ? You must use it more, although I have to agree the boot is very small for a family car. Keep the updates coming - your English is fine.

Re: Snazzy's story

It was Snazzy's turn to go to the French 480 club meet this year. The ferry prices had gone up a lot, so we decided to just take one car even though the meeting was in Compiegne, north of Paris rather than deep in the south. https://www.dragonflyjewel.co.uk/sylvia/snazzy/compiegne2.jpg https://www.d...

Re: International Meet up - 17/18/19 May 2024 - Bruggen

Ferry prices do seem to gone up quite a lot. Dover Calais is a lot more than it used to be. I've bitten the bullet and booked the tunnel - they do a weekend saver fare. The longer you leave it the higher the price. I must say, if we were further north than Norfolk I'd be looking at a longer crossing...

Re: Laurie - '94 480 GT - Racing Green Metallic

I'd recommend the repro spoilers from Wayne at wrcomposites. They are fibre glass as opposed to Volvos thin plastic ones, which are much more easily damaged. Lucky you to be so close !

I've already booked the cattery for Willow as well as channel tunnel for Al and I to take 2 cars. I'll see whether my insurance covers me outside the UK..... I'd recommend also getting breakdown cover which will repatriate your car in the event of of a major problem. Maybe we should all travel in co...

Re: Calling all GT owners

Al and I did go there last year, and met a manager who was very accommodating but under the impression that we would all have a meal there. The restaurant prices were scary to say the least ! We looked at the location of the original photos, and it has changed so much it is barely recognisable. The ...

Re: Scotland Mini Meet October 14th 2023

There seems to be no logic whatsoever with these things I quite agree. Accordingly to DVLA, all our 480s are bad enough to pay £325 road tax but the 2008 Saab is so disgracefully polluting we get stung for a whopping £720. Yet TFL would charge us to take a 480 into the London ULEZ zone and guess wh...
