I'm breaking a 460 2.0 CD.
Not strictly a 480, but many interchangeable parts if anyone's interested.
Info centre, etc...
Jim should recognise the wheels...
Cheers,
Steve.

Wow, not been on for a while as my 480 went a while ago.

Re: white 480 1700?
I took on DIS's 480 hoping to do a restoration job... Tin worm is bad all around back end, basically - boot floor and all underneath there at the back behind bumper etc (body, not just that panel that always rusts), rear arches outer and inner, cills both outer and inner completely gone at the back...

Cheers.
Was supposed to be 40mm with Gmax springs, always thought it looked more like 50 though, especially at the back.
It's 'was' rather than 'is' as it's now being broken due to epic tinworm

Re: 480 as your only car?
For a while, probably about two years, my 480 served as the go between car when the others broke down. It's longest stint was about 6 months of solid, hard use lumping all my tools around. About 150kg in the back of a lowered 480 meant I had to plan my journeys around speed bumps! Ironically,...

Re: More Engine Problems - Any Ideas Please
Could have just had a blanking plug on it,as that's where the boost guage plumbs in on the Turbos. Open, like that, will definitely cause running problems as there ia a lot of unmetered air being sucked in, causing lean running. If you'd sprayed carb cleaner there with the engine running, it would h...

Re: More Engine Problems - Any Ideas Please
Easy start works too. I've just always used it and it works, so stuck with it. Plus, there's always a tin around. There's no easy start in my shed as I can't stand the stuff. My mate's Vectra will only start with it now. I wouldn't worry about it going up in flames. Yes, it's flamable, but you'd hav...

Re: More Engine Problems - Any Ideas Please
Sounds like some sort of vacuum leak to me, that's getting worse as the engine warms up. Get it started and spray carb cleaner around all the hoses, joints, idle valve and inlet manifold one by one. If engine note/speed changes at all, you've got a leak as it's sucking it in. This would tie in with ...

Re: **WANTED** non info centre dials
I'm currently planing a T4 conversion on a 460 which has manual dials, but I'm breaking a CD spec 460 with info centre. Would be great if I could somehow graft an info centre in there too. I'd have to change the speedo anyway, as the T4 gearbox uses an electrical pickup, as opposed to the cable dri...

Pretty sure I've got a set in the shed...
Erm... £25 posted?
Edit:
You do know the speedo is cable driven on them though, don't you?

Re: About to buy 480 Turbo - advice needed plz
If you like Alfas, you'll love it. Tempremental electrics, sometimes dodgy build quality, lots of time pulling your hair out chasing silly little faults. BUT. On the odd day when everything works and the sun shines, show them a B road and they are absolutely fantastic little cars. I've always said t...

Re: Asfalt - Swedish Motoring Programme - 480 Episode!!
imagine a T5 engine in a 480, :D Thought about it myself and looked into it a little. Unfortunately, it's much too big :( There was a fella on VOC that shoehorned one into a 440, but LOTS of cutting was required and the front wheels looked rediculous with how far they stuck out! T4 is physically po...

Cool!
Think the first minute or so is supposed to be a nod to the era the 480 was born into.
Damn, I deeply miss mine
