Re: 10,000 miles driven

Great stuff! Lovely pictures, and a reminder why we keep these cars on the roads - because modern motoring is as soul-less as it gets, and unexpected CEM problems are actually a gift from the automotive gods!

Thanks & Well Done on 10K up!

Re: Baby inbound!

Hello James & Rachel, Brilliant news! I am sure you are chuffed to bits, whilst also being nervous and gobsmacked at the same time! (I know I most certainly was when Maeve told me she was expecting Madelaine - not so much with Margot!) I'm presuming it is your first? All I can say is that parenthood...

Re: Ebay: 2.0 S M652 SUD

It is a nice colour, and they do polish up well. If the seller really has owned it for the past 15 years as they claim, I would guess there would be a decent pile of invoices / bills to pore over. The MOT history isn't too bad, and the mileage doesn't seem to have been excessive at any point. Date t...

Re: Nilani Blows a Hose

I think it might be a case of looking for a specialist hose supplier and updating, rather than cannibalising another ancient (and presumably equally decrepit) part from a scrapper. It can't be beyond the wit of man (or woman or those who prefer not to be categorised) to find a solution. Till then it...

Re: 89 ES in need of Rescue

Where is it? Not that it really matters I suppose, since it will need to be trailered away.

Lancashire might be a long shot though. What kind of consideration is wanted by the owner, for someone to take it away?

Re: 1993 2.0 Volvo 480 ES LTD Edition

Hello Oliver, I enjoyed the photos - the cars do scrub up well, even though the youngest (like mine) is now over 26 years old! Am sure someone will give you the benefit of their experience, possibly even come to see the car too - they'll all say the same things like, "headlining has dropped at the r...

Re: 1993 Volvo 480 ES LTD Edition

Hello there, You'll probably need to post a link to an external pic hosting site, as per the Celebration ad also live at the moment. I'm guessing it is a two-tone turquoise and silver paint job (it doesn't say in your 'ad') but it would be good to know - also it is likely to be a 1.7 fuel injected e...

Re: Northampton-Derbys-Yorks Meet 25th ONLY

Whappen?

Sounds like someone high up had a devious and cunning plan to scupper the plan! :kill:

It may well benefit me in that I should now be able to get a fix in place to allow me to join the next meet :)

Anyone got pics from Day 1 to share?

Cheers!

Re: Oli's 1992 Volvo 480ES Limited Edition

https://imgur.com/rSviVb7 I had the same issue with the Paris Blue S that I brought back from Northern Ireland a couple of years back - in the end I think it was as simple as making sure the right bulbs were in place, and wiggling the relays to overcome any furring due to it having been stood in the...

Re: Northampton-Derbys-Yorks Meet 25-26th Sept 21

Although David (DC Walker) went beyond the call of duty to try to find a solution for Nilani's plumbing problems, unfortunately it appears that we've drawn a blank. As a result it would probably be too risky to try to join in the fun over the weekend, in case the AA repair failed and she was to lose...

Which hose? You sure it’s not just a clip?

I’ve had a couple of clips fail, never a hose.

It was easily sorted in the end

Nilani Blows a Hose

Hello folks, Currently sitting at the side of the A580 near Warrington, where Nilani has unexpectedly blown a hose and marooned me with no coolant :badmood: AA are Jon the way, but being a middle aged male in an old age car I am waaaayyy down their list of priorities.. There doesn't appear to be any...

Re: Nilani on Tour - With Headgear!!

Any advice on the best options for rear shocks? Also, should I look to replace rubber bushes with polyurethane ones and if so, where is a good place to find these?

I've ordered drop links.

Cheers!

Re: Nilani on Tour - With Headgear!!

Not sure which bit was doing the creaking and groaning whilst we were on tour, but looking at the picture below, I have to wonder if it could be any of: 1) Drop links - notoriously creaky on these and looking a bit long in the tooth on here 2) The bushes on the bar going into the back of the brake c...

Last bits..
