IS that the gun metal silver one? I live in the FYlde and have seen it about. Let me know if you need me to fix up a test drive on your behalf!

480 as part of multicar insurance?
HI there, Do any of you run your 480 as your fun or spare car? My insurer wont count my no claims against a 2nd car so I'm a bit stuck on whats best to do- get a multi car policy which dont seem too cheap, or get a new policy and build up a new n/c which would be the best bet longer term. Any ideas?...

two front wings & driver door avalibe blackpool
Hi All,
Upgraded my wings and door this year so I have some spares if anyone wants them then PM me- slight rusting through in the gutters of the wings and at the bottom of the door, cosmetically quite good.
Would certainly swap for bumpers or a bit of back arch!

Re: Wanted - passenger side wing (wheel arch panel)
I have a pair of white ones, not as good as the ebay ones- bit of rot on the gutter & the part of the panel parallel to the road surface when fitted. Definitely fixable.

Re: bumper gap after welding
Great, I think I know those screws! If you pop those off does the bumper just 'fall off' or does it need to be slid off? Thanks for the tip Robert- its been quite a pricey year for my 480 so I wont be doing that for a bit- off to the auto electricians tomorrow! By the way nay thoughts about installi...

Re: bumper gap after welding
I'm not too sure how to put pics up here, but I am sure that my bumper bar was basically reduced a box of rusty branflakes and they fabricated a new one

bumper gap after welding
HI All, Just had my rear valance cut out & welded for my MOT, from the side it looks a perfect job, the bumper mathes the countor or the wheel arch perfectly, but my 480 now has a 1cm 'gap between the rear of the bodywork (under the lights) and the start of the bumper- a little more at the ends (und...

Re: Front speakers
I think 13cm or 5.25 inches are fine. When I replaced mine replaced the tweeter too, I think all after market 'component speakers' include both. I from memory the volvo is unusual in as much as the tweeter just runs directly from the woofer without using a crossover (which splits the high and low si...

Re: best after market mudflaps?
Yes Bilt Hamber is awesome, you effectively need to line the inside of the panel as it spends a lot of its life under water- think I'm going to epoxy mastic my next ones!
Do you have any tips on factory flaps then Jif? Just wait for some to come up?

best after market mudflaps?
Just about to take the 480 to the bodyshop next week, I'm thinking some mudflaps could protect the bodywork & sills, have any of you got any views on which are best? IE stop filth & not trapping water!
Thanks in advance!

Re: stalling and rough idle after start up?
Just for the record, my problem was the seating of the valves, I only had full compression on one cylinder so no wonder it was a bit of a state!
Thanks for all the help on this thread!

Re: Volvo 480 2.0l Celebration "Breaking" all parts availabl
Tim - it does sound as if you are hanging together with a minimum of screws: where have they all gone?? Hopefully replacing them all will resolve a few of the rattles that you must have... ;) Eye of Ra is quite right; on a RHD car only two screws hold the instrument binnacle in place on its right h...

Ahh sorry Jeff & Robert Ive not checked in for a bit- I only have my password saved on my second choice pc browser - so untechnical- I really should never be allowed anywhere near a 480's electrics! I'd be really happy to pay your postage for screws and pockets!

I'd like a passenger side electric window switch and lower of the two little plastic trims that attach to the handbrake lever and stop sweets falling into the mechanism.
Where are you based, if your near to me it might be worth a trip over for some bigger components!
