Re: Rescue alert ! Black turbo auto ? R8 ?

That's a huge amount of work Jeff - I can see this being one helluva good car ! A big well done seems very inadequate.

Re: Rescue car: R7 - black 2 litre ES Auto

Things are finally moving ! https://www.dragonflyjewel.co.uk/sylvia/R7/offtoandrew.jpg R7 has now gone to Andrew Vanham, our latest recruit to the cause. He has kindly volunteered to do the welding needed and has already sorted out the alignment on the back hatch so it shuts without needing to be th...

Re: Mobile Meet Hampshire to Northants October 1st

Rotten luck James, especially after getting up so early. We drove down to Newbury on Friday evening - it tipped down with rain most of the way which wasn't fun in the dark. When we stopped at services on the M4, I parked Lily next to something blue (no interest in modern blobs, it could have been an...

Re: Paris the Unicorn joins the club !

I arranged to 'borrow' Paris from the bodyshop so she could go to the French club's annual meet. The door is much better now - the split by the lower hinge has been welded up, it's about 95% there now but could do with some less worn hinges. I'm guessing her previous owner had a habit of leaning on ...

Re: Update on Rescues

We had a visit from Andrew, our new volunteer welder, this morning. He's had a look at the 3 rescues here and is happy to do the welding they need. R5 (black turbo) is definitely the worst but nothing he didn't have to do on his own 460 turbo. R4 (white lhd turbo,) and R7 (black 2ltr auto) both main...

Re: Update on Rescues

I see that Skandix have raised their already high prices - the rear arch panels have gone from 150 euros to 190 and shipping to the UK is now just under 200. Add to that the import duty which is charged on the value of goods plus shipping and it's gone from expensive to ludicrous. In better news, th...

and then there were 9...... (rescue cars that is)

Very pleased to say we were successful in buying the Paris Blue 2ltr being auctioned on ebay. As it is in Lincoln, it's not too far from David so he will be arranging to have it trailered to the Pamper Parlour. It needs the clutch sorted plus all the usual stuff after sitting in a garage for many ye...

Re: Update on Rescues

The only thing happening with R7 at the moment is a daily clean to remove squirrel droppings which are as effective as Nitromors at removing paint ! I have the roof covered but the bonnet gets the occasional splat. R7 will be going to David when space allows - hopefully it's just an engine mount plu...

Update on Rescues

Just so you all know we are still beavering away, and mostly too busy to do updates. Jeff is currently working on R8 (black turbo auto) which is looking a whole lot better than it did. R1 (early blue ES) still sits on his drive awaiting an ecu from Brinkie, unfortunately it needs a rare one so we ha...

Re: Question about the hausser spoiler

If its WR Components, I have one if their copies which I've not been able to fit. It came without the hinge fixings, or the part they attach to on the spoiler. Instead the fixing bolts are on the ends and line up with the edge of the glass so utterly useless. Cost £180 and Wayne's attitude was don't...

Re: Mobile Meet Hampshire to Northants October 1st

The schedule is going to be the same as last year as Volvo have come up trumps again. 9 - 9.45am Meet at Starbucks at the Weyhill westbound motorway services just west of Andover on the A303, postcode SP11 8FH 10 am - 10.30 Thruxton SP11 8PN for photoshoot outside the gates - there are no events at ...

Re: Wanted: seat belt holder, window regulators, temperature sensor (water) and rear tail lights

If the bottom part is missing, check your top section to see if the connecting lug is intact. That's what usually breaks, hence the top sections were supplied by Volvo without the bottom part. Usually that's left loose but still threaded on the belt.

Re: Service parts

There is no specific supplier of 480 parts. Some are easily sourced such as shocks, quite a lot come from Renault as the basic engine block is theirs. There are 2 German suppliers who still have some parts, polarparts.de and skandix.de. but of course shipping and import duty make them quite expensiv...

Hi Colin,
The rescue group could use some of your stash. Those rear quarters look good, please let me know what you want for them. I'll check with Jeff on the other parts.
Cheers
