Alternator and Instrument Cluster

Last week i noticed the alternator wasn't charging the battery, so i went to the bother of changing the regulator..no use, so then i changed the the whole thing, again nothing. After reading the Haynes manual it mentions the red battery light should be on when the ignition is turned on (before start...

Yes that fits the profile of 95-D-95 perfectly An ok price if its in excellent condition The white S, is still on carzone....now reduced by another 500 euro to 3.5k It needs to drop to under 2 to be realistically priced though http://www.carzone.ie/search/Volvo/480/S-1.7-3d/200940195389797/advert?ch...

Hi Kace and welcome Pushing towards 20 known road worthy examples and on a 90 plate so one of the earlier ones. If i had the money i probably could be tempted by a C30 especially the ones with the 156 euro annual road tax but i much prefer the looks of the new VW Scirocco I have always liked those F...

No thats a new one, thats why its so hard to judge how many are out there, they tend to just pop up 675 is more realistic price wise aswel..mywheels.ie isnt giving out NCT information anymore and it doesnt give a last tax date for this either so its hard to judge if its roadworthy But it looks clean...

17 is only what's mentioned here so far. Unfortunately the DOT dont give out figures like the DVLA, the actual number could be anything between 25-50 id imagine The cars are now between 14-22 years old...in general the Irish car buying public are number plate snobs,a lot have been scrapped already a...

Cut and Paste of Ad Volvo 440 es 1993, 2.0i, 3dr hatchback, only 32k genuine miles, 1 owner from new, heated seats, elect...

That GT in Wicklow brings it up to sixteen. Richard Knight...What a great name, how could that man not be successful in life, bet he got all the girls  There is a chance that could have been Tom Severins former car but nothing concrete. There was a 480 for sale on buyandsell earlier in the year...

There is a member statistics page on the main site http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/clubdata/memberstats.php That puts 31 cars registered from Ireland, that figure could be out of date though if the club has been set up since 2000 I remember a mention (probably on another volvo site) of Explorer and ...

Thanks for that David

That brings the rolling total to fifeteen (thats if MO69 and the guy from Gorey have both cars on the Road)

Mabye the guestimate of 40 is too high...after all meeting another 480 on the road is a rare sight indeed

480's in Ireland...FAO Irish Members

Mo69s thread got me thinking how many 480's are left in Southern Ireland. So I started a bit of a register I would hazzard a guess of about 40 road going examples, but i could be completely wrong The ones I know of are 93-D-328** Grey (my own) 95-G-80** White (David old 2.0) 91 C 165** Grey (Davids ...

Last taxed in 2000 according to mywheels.ie Shame it ended up like that, I know more 480's laid up than actually driving in Ireland at the moment..I blame the road tax regime...a minimum of 551 Euro a year to tax a 480 while you can tax one of those new diesel C30's for 156 Euro....madness That trai...
Thank god you don't know what I have payed for mine :scared:
Its market dependent, you would probably make your money back if you sold it...but if that particular car was sold for 5k, the new owner would most likely get a fraction of that if they tried to sell it on again

The original white car that started this discussion has disappeared off carzone.

Thanks for putting it up.the review is pretty good as well. The 1989 launch date is a couple of years too late and thought the original selling price was around 16,000 pounds, which seems a lot even now Anyone on here, own the 480,Its a nice one. the speedo seems to have a mind of its own, i presume...
