For what its worth it's never done that on mine but my garage said they also did a fair bit of work to align the two sections.
Chrome tailpipe trims are cheap though so at least it looks the part !?

Re: Rear back box
I got a Bosal one for mine as they're normally decent quality (rather than the ultra cheap ones you will find on eBay), but when the garage was fitting it, they had to use the mig welder as it had been badly sealed...ok since but can't recommend on that basis!

Re: Rear Wiper - died in the vertical postion!
As stated above the usual culprit is the rubber connector to the the rear window that wears through causing a short circuit. Take you multimeter or a bulb and check for continuity at the motor connector . If there is no voltage at that point then it is the rubber connector but TBH a visual inspecti...

Rear Wiper - died in the vertical postion!
Haven't used it for ages but turned it on the other day and it died in the 'erect' position. Is it normally the motor that seizes or worth checking something else first ? Also - is it an MOT failure?
Thanks
Thanks

Wheel centre caps - two questions ?
My 480's Taurus wheels centre caps are showing their age now. In the past I've masked the centre part with the Volvo logo and sprayed the rest, but the contrast will be too great now if I have another go (as paint worn off in the centre) Questions:- 1) Any way of successfully refurbishing and still ...

Re: volvo dealer's won't "touch the electricals"
Have taken my dash apart many many times and tried and replaced all sorts including new-old-stock Volvo bits. Rev counter now given up despite replacing.
I can understand why they can't be bothered

Their list is a bit out of date as I bought in May and there were a couple of things that were already not available.

Re: info unit dies - pre 93 car a possible fix
Ok cheers Jim. I've seen a brand new old stock info unit for £60, toying with getting it but was wandering if it would fit either car if need be. ('95 Celebration and '92 460 Turbo) Steve :hopping: I bought both a new old stock PCB and Info Centre from Seymour Horwell - all works fine now apart fro...

Re: new arches
Look forward to seeing the car finished. Just as well I have an understanding partner!! ;) Yep. One of the reasons I went the 480 route is that my other half had one many years ago when I first met her. We understand each other and if I'd ended up with an old Subaru or something, I wouldn't have go...

Re: new arches
Sounds good. I had the arches done 2 years ago when I got the car to stop them getting worse but haven't touched the rest of the paint (bumper scuffs, chips, few small dents) as I concentrated on getting the mechanicals up to date Will be keen to see the photos - Is the place you are using reasonabl...

Not seen yours yet but will keep a look out. The one I see has a distinctive number plate and is a Celebration (though could be a GT as met red) !spree wrote:MK as in Milton Keynes?
