Replacing Clutch Cable

As subject... What a rubbish job! Took me an hour to un hook the cable from the pedal retainer. Took me another hour to thread it back... How do you do it quickly when you can't see where the cable enters through the bulkhead, and can't get your hands up there to thread the cable into the pedal reta...

Re: exterior door / window rubbers..........help?

Hello, Sorry to resurrect an old post, found it as I am looking for the same v40 weatherstrips. I've been looking rather dodgily round carparks for v40's but havn't seen any, to compare the weatherstrips with my own. Which model v40 used the rubber (rather than plastic) weatherstrips? 1996-2000 or 2...

Re: Door Weatherstrips

Does anyone have a picture of them installed by any chance?

What are the part numbers?

Door Weatherstrips

The door weatherstrips (between outer door and window glass) are no longer available (like most parts now) from Volvo and I'd like some new ones.

Part No's 3415689 (LEFT) and 3415690 (RIGHT).

Is there a company that manufactures a universal strip that you would cut it to fit?

150000 Miles

Rolled over 150000 miles in my 480 today... Bought it with 69000 on the clock nearly 7 years ago, drove it regularly to Europe (as far as Hungary and Slovenia sometimes), drove it to work, drove it everywhere really... Always said that when I'd done 150k in it, I'd get rid of it, but now it's got th...

Re: Rust on top of A-pillar

I had the same problem. Must admit, i was shocked when i saw those pictures... Drilled out the rivets on the rain gutter and I had a look to see what was going on. Fortunatly not as bad as the pictures, but still action needed. Managed to make a small hole in the upper skin with a screwdriver, then ...

Re: 2011 Club Europe meeting in Luxembourg!

We missed our 4pm ferry and only got home at 1am! Still, it was great to see everyone again.

Many thanks to the organisers, it can't be an easy task to organise a meeting -- we're looking forward to the next one...

Re: Problem with Info Centre

Make sure that the MFU (the little circuit board under the white cover) matches the one for your car. For example. If you use one from a Turbo and you've got a 2.0, it won't calculate MPG, atlthough the rest of the settings will work. This sounds like the behavior you're experiencing.. This will hel...

Be careful with dodgy battery clamps. Mine were not making good contact with the battery for a while, which caused my alternator to fry...

Re: Drivers' side wing in Flame Red?

Hi,

I got a white one in the end and painted it.

It looks good, so it should come up nicely after a few polishes...thanks for checking.

Decided to pay some attention to my 480..

Well, I can't remember the last time I posted here...nice to see so many new faces, and still see the the old ones.. :) I've still got a 480 and I've spent a lot of time with it over this past few days and have fixed loads of things that were bugging me. The heated mirrors and rear screen were not w...

That guy was strange - apparently he dropped his pills on the floor outside my car when I was sleeping, then went frantically picking them up...odd ball.

Anyway. Good to see everyone again, and nice to meet the new people too... Thanks to the organisers for a great meet!!
