Re: 2 litre stuttering

First thing to do is to replace plugs, rotor, distr.cap and cables if you don't know when last serviced. Those engines can react with stutter if ignition parts are neglected. And have a look at the airfilter while you're at it. Important to have all these parts in good nick before winter starts.

The guy doesn''t respond anymore to E-mails regarding clear sidemarkers for over a year now. So forget it. The ones who received them are very content, sometimes they do show up on Ebay

There's however a rollovervalve to shut of the petrol supply to the pump when the 480 lands on it's side or roof. It's #8 on the image.

The headlights and pop ups have their own relay. In position A is the headlight relay and in position F is the tall pop-up relay. And don't trust the fuse if it looks ok, replace to be sure!

Re: 1.7 n/a - what are the tuning options?

Those Renault engines are pretty bulletproof, they can cope with high milages. The turbo itself, hoses and the electronics will give up way before the engine does. I've seen a couple of brand new turbo engines here in Holland adverted for around €800. But you'll also need the ecu's, wiring looms a...

Re: [480T] Warm engine don't want to work or struggle

Is it possible situation, that the ECU comes in safe mode because the high temperature is too risky to the engine? The ecu won't do that, the only thing you get is the warning STOP on the display if the engine overheats. I noticed another strange case: In my ES coolant flows around the engine. I ca...

Re: Info centre-Strange or Not ?

And if the temparture drops below -5c the warning light goes out again. So it only warns between +4 and -5c. Volvo thought that the warning becomes irritating if you look outside the window, ice and snow everywhere and your display is telling you that it may be slippery...

Re: [480T] Warm engine don't want to work or struggle

You can hear explosion inside of engine.
I read this as it misfires, that's why I thought of a bad ignition coil. When those are going bad they first start giving problems when getting hot.
I think it's worthwhile checking just to eliminate.

Re: who know??

DRL means Day Running Lights, those are burning as soon as you turn the key. The drl's may not be working with yours, the fogs and drl's are not working the sameway in every country. Depends on the regulations of the country in which it was sold.

Re: [480T] Warm engine don't want to work or struggle when hot

I suspect a fault in the ignition. How's the state of distr.cap, leads, rotor and sparkplugs? Any oil leakage underneat the distr.cap? Does the coil gets hot to the touch when the problems occur?

Re: Cant decide what to go for. ES or Turbo

Regarding the mods the dealer made I seem to remember that they also replaced the oilscrape ring for an upgraded one. This is something I''ve copied from a topic on this board a couple of years ago and saved it: Changes on B20F 208/209 '94 on(green dipstick) versus 116/118 old B20F (red dipstick '92...

Re: Cant decide what to go for. ES or Turbo

I wouldn't buy the '93 2.0i model with the red oildipstick engine. They can use oil like a oilboat. The '94 on model 2.0i engines are modified by Volvo to prevent this oil use. You can regognize the later by the green oildipstick. And regarding power, the 2.0i and turbo in standard form are almost t...

Re: LED Daylight running bulbs

Yeah.....but......the standard bulbs roast the living hell out of the plastic in the now impossible to buy new clear front indicator and running lights. Not a good situation at all. Better set the rotation lightswitch at pos.1 so the drl are burning at 4w while driving. That way the bulbs don't get...

Re: Mad woman makes impulsive decision!

I would't use bathroom sealant. Those contain acid too harden out, regonizable from the bad smell. And you know what acid does to metal! Another problem is that it hardens out, which makes it almost impossible to remove the clusters in one piece afterwards. I would use a non hardening sealant specia...
