Yes bare metal and jenolite too and etch primer ' the rear arches need to be sealed on the inside too with windscreen sealer and waxoyl the from the inside Ah thank you. Good to know. The rear arches on mine are pretty bad now. It looks to me like it would really need cutting out on both sides. :(

I presume with surface rust you just sand it back to bare metal and start from there?

It is pretty obvious once the nose cone is off. You will need a large spanner for the actual switch. I had to use an adjustable one and it was a nightmare. You don't need to drain the coolant if you plug up the hole quickly after removing it and then just top it up a little. I had to remove the batt...

I have a working switch you can have for a fiver plus postage if you do decide you want to change it.
I removed it as I thought it was faulty but it turned out to be a broken wire...!

I think the only difference is that it changed at 93' so you just need one from a post 93 car. If I can get it off the one I am breaking I can sell you that one but I understand it can be an awkward job!
