Yet another speed gauge gremlin topic.
Hi all. Been through ALL of the speedo threads I could find. Reading them has prepared me to this new problem. So I start the car and the speedo and odometer are easy and ok. After I drive about 10 kms the needle starts jumping up and down. 50% of the time it displays the right speed, the other half...

Re: Dashboard Bulbs
While I had to replace my ever-faulty VEM I replaced VEMs T5 bulbs for lateral beam Leds. The difference shines through. Also a front beam one for the key hole. http://i66.tinypic.com/4h5vma.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/m79fzb.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/4fx5ad.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/2rxk20j.jpg

Re: IsoFIX. Could it be done?
Yes. I totaly understad the in the event of a front or back crash the ISOFix chair would push the girl against the belt. My "normal" car is 2012 and has ISOfix that's why I bought that chair in the first place. Then the family needed a second car and I went for the Turbo coffee machine ( generic spa...

IsoFIX. Could it be done?
I'm concerned about my kids safety when traveling with the 480. My boy is 2 yo and still needs to use his group 1 chair, wich is fixed by the belt and then some adittional belts hold the boy. My girl is 5 and weights 15.5 kgs, so it is a group 2-3 chair. On her I have to pass the seat belt over her ...

Re: Heater blower relay
That's great help. I had the only ACMax working situation in the past. I did open the VEM and resoldered points as said somewhere in the FAQ. It worked for a while. Now the whole unit has gone. I get the lights on the buttons and the VEM slider but no air at all comes out, regardless of the fan spee...

Re: Heater blower relay
It's a LHD 1991 b18ft,with old type VEM, with off and rec at the right side and acmax and ac buttons on the left. On the back of the fan all there are two relays with their fuses. Those two are fuel pump and injection. I'm starting to think I don't have a heating fan relay.

Heater blower relay
Where is the heater blower relay (E9)? I have located B2 and B12 behind the glovebox and a couple of fuses there too, but I can't find E7, E8 and E9.

Re: Dashboard Bulbs
I bought the leds from this guy I found on the internet close to my place. That way I could choose exactly what I needed. For the T5s I used two types of bulbs. Front beam for the dashboard ones and lateral beam for the lights switch/fog lights switch socket and the heated seats and the other button...

Re: Dashboard Bulbs
The supershiny LED dash. You might think LEDs won't be dimmable but they somehow dim. Though darker now is what used to be brighter then.

Re: Dashboard Bulbs
Looking to replace all dash bulbs for LEDs while i will renew my dashboard black frame. T5s and T10s were and easy and cheap find but when it comes to this strange socket on the infocenter things get crappy (part 3342604). I've been told by the guy who sold me the other bulbs that this was a B8.4d s...

Reinforcing the dashboard frame.
This is my second dashboard front frame gone. The original one I bought the car with was also broken. Same place ( upper right corner, LHD), same trace. Thank God I got myself during this year a couple more just in case ( wich has come to be). Getting ready to replace it again and also replace some ...

The aircon dryer / accumulator quest.
This is a never ending story when it comes to air contitioner. Recently got all the system converted to R134 gas, all pipes cleaned, all bad joints renewed. Also new compressor. After 2 weeks in the garage this "aircon specialist" guy couldn't find a propper replacement for the dryer/accumulator. Te...

Re: Am I Missing Something?
In that hole there should be the ABS pump unit (if the car is fitted with it) and the aircon dryer (also if fitted). Otherwise you see the non-ABS servo brake cylinder, which I believe I see in the image.

Spectrum analizer
Yes, having a EQ-611 above the ashtray is quite nice but,
Wouldn't it be cool to have some retrolook spectrum analizer that would fit in that hole?
Any thoughts on who/how could make such a sweet device?

Re: Moonroof Retrofit
I have been myself in the original Volvo 480 Sunroof nightmare for the last year and a half. The thing is surely screwed, not glued to the roof. Screws can only be seen when you remove the roof upholstery. I do recall aswell there are some metal parts sodered to the roof sheet. Our Volvo 480 spanish...
