good idea,but it wont work as the eeprom built into the ecu will most likely be read only. when you burn an eeprom you get the option to insert a bit that makes it unreadable to eeprom readers, if you had gone to a lot of effort to write a program then you would most likely do the same. i've got a reciept from Ziebart for my Mk2 Escort which was treated when it was brand new, it seems to have worked as its still not bad after nearly 27 years!! I think Ziebart used much the same stuff except they were more thorough, drilling holes in inacessable pleces to spray it in.

what year is your 480 as there are two different types of mirror,pre '92 ones are bigger and completely different to post '92 ones. i have a pre '92 passenger mirror but its red.you could spray it or just change over the plastic insert from your black one.
