I went to see that 480t as it is in Tunbridge Wells, it was nice apart from the bashed drivers door.

There is a 340GLE for sale in my street, looks like a genuine 33K miles.

I can investigate further if required.

That comment sounds a bit daft now eh Ozturbo? Well I had my decat pipe fitted, at great expense, without the lambda sensor for the moment and can't really tell the difference. I am running an orange ecu (car is '94 model), but I just received my blue ecu back from Rich, so I'll try that. So hopeful...

I wish I had a deposit on one!! No, it was a lame attempt at sarcastic humour.
The crappy parcel shelf wouldn't put me off, but I was surprised at it.

Well, I received my ecu back from Rich. I will plug it in tonight and see what the result is.

Turbo transplant would be easiest route for more power.

Modding n/a engines is always more bother than worth unless you spend lots of money, in my experience.

C30 parcel "shelf"

Went to the Volvo stealers for some bits the other day and chanced upon some C30s in the showroom. Very nice I thought, until I examined the boot to find that the C30 has a very similar parcel shelf arrangement to the 480! 20 years of progress and they still have to use a flimsy piece of vinyl to co...

Sorry to urinate on your bonfire Groomus old boy, but in my and many others experience, Primacies are just about the worst tyre you can buy.

Can anyone point me at where the lambda sensor connects up to the loom please?

Thanks for that answer Crispy-d.

I will try running without it plugged in for a few days and if it doesn't like it, I'll get the decat pipe drilled and tapped.

Too wet to think about replacing the cat now anyway!

I think the GSD3s are vastly superior to GSD2s.

Don't give up on F1s, I can barely spin the wheels on mine in the wet and I've increased the boost.

F1s all the way. I just had 2 fitted by etyres.co.uk, fully balanced and with new valves for less than £100.

They cured loads of steering ills and now they are bedded in feel bloody fantastic!

Ha, I was thinking about a cheap Gazebo from B&Q as this weather is seriously hampering my modding.

Go for the decat Martin, you know it makes sense.

You can adjust your actuator rod, as a crude and simple mod, but it isn't recommended.

Having your ecu altered will increase boost without using a bleed valve too.

Why do you not want to use a bleed valve, or better, a Manual Boost Controller?

Where did the horses go?

The urban myth says that when Porsche turbocharged the B18F engine, it produced more power than Volvo were happy with, so it was detuned to the paltry 120bhp we know and love. So my question is; what was done to detuned the engine? Is the Richmod a reversal of this procedure or was it something else...

Hi.
any update to this?

I want to decat my car and am not sure whether it is worth, from a performance/ecoomy point of view, putting the lambda sensor in the decat pipe.

What would happen if I just cable-tied it up somewhere?

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers,

Antony
