Again, I agree with jgtynan as the rattle stops if I push against the dash near the stereo.

Ha, my car does this as I hit 80 and stays even when I slow down.
I too have removed the dash and tightened every screw visible, to no avail.

I guess I will have to probe further into the recesses of the dash, but the OP says, it sounds like it's in the air vent.

Sorted. 70p each and a 20 second job to replace them. Much better.

Cheers,

Cool, thanks. I tried having a pull (!) last night, to no avail. I shall employ the use of some pliers tonight.

Cheers,

Sorry to resurrect this thread. I have ordered some from my local dealer, but am not sure how they fit on.

Any help?

Cheers. That looks like it might help, but it doesn't explain why the economy reading is inaccurate.

Optimistic Info center...

I recently replaced my accurate, but intermittently unreliable info centre. The "new" one stays up for longer, but gives rather flattering economy readings. It sits either at 47.1 or 67.1 mpg for most of the time, giving over 200 miles range with 2 fuel bars showing. Which would be nice! My question...

Spotted a black J reg 480 in East Grinstead today, which may or may not have been the one I originally saw in Turners Hill, as it had a dark haired maiden in it.

I saw another, possibly the same, black 480 in Turners Hill, but this had a bloke driving it and was definitely an L-reg.

Is there a stash of black 480s in Turners Hill?

Martin,
you have no other mods on your car do you?

I ran my decat with a Richmod and mbc wound right up, so I guess the improvement due to the decat was negligible.

Really? I fitted one and couldn't tell much difference. I have since put the cat back and still can't tell the difference.

Try HIC, Herts Insurance Consultants. I've been with them for years and they are great.

Well before other firms did this, they honoured other firms NCB.

Happy to help a fellow 480 owner...

The Jensen sub says made in China and the Bumper says made in USA.

I will invest in better quality gear later, but as my first install, I thought I would go with stuff I could get for free/cheap, as I am bound to damage it somehow.

Thanks for that comprehensive answer. The pics are really helpful too. I generally listen to thrash metal, so really need a tight, punchy bass driver that can keep up with fast double bass drums, so I guess a sealed enclosure is what I want. So I'll get it all wired up, get a box sorted and experime...

Sub-woofer help wanted by ICE numpty

Having sorted my front speakers and headunit out, I want more, clear bass. Can anyone give me any advice in installing the hardware I have: Alpine T220 amp - 140W bridged output Either Bumper 300W 8" sub or Jensen 150W 10" I have been given both subs and don't know which is best. The smaller Bumper ...
