Awful thing, I put my toolbox in the boot and the back suspension bottomed out, then every time I went round a corner it slid across the boot and made the back end of the car hop sideways

But if nothing else - it was funny

the ES has a mechanical speedo.
Mechanical speedo no, the ES has an electronic one the same as the turbo, all 3 ES's I've had have anyway

Would be better off with an M59 though as it's a stronger box

I'm fairly sure the bottom radiator hose is the same, when mine split I went to the local scrappy to see if I could get a replacement and they all looked identical to me (apart from the diesel one that is) - unfortunately scappys tend to cut the bottom hose on cars these days so I ended up buying a ...

Hmmm... One of my mates has recently bought a 405td and it's had exactly the same problems as your's Rob, with the added bonus of his heater matrix going as well And our 306, don't even go there... constant banging (not knocking, too loud for that) from the back end, a whole collection of odd noises...

Cheers all - from both of us :D Stayed at Mablethorpe for the weekend, spent saturday in Skeggy with a side trip to Lincoln in the afternoon, lots of beer was consumed and fun was had but there's one thing that's confusing me... The sensor you changed is the correct one for the temp display Try earthing the wire that goes to that sensor (with the ignition on) if the wiring/dash is ok the gauge will max out, meaning it's a sensor fault, if it stays at the bottom then it's either the wiring or the gauge on the dash thats at f...
