You mean the part with the switches for windows/mirrors?

the bit you took the storage thingy out of, might be able to get at it if you take out the just the switch panel though

If it's oil being burnt the smoke should be slightly blue, if it's completely white it could be condensation in the exhaust, give it a good run to dry it out and see if it goes back to normal, if not, dunno

disconnect wiring from switch at h/brake lever and put em together,
if bulb lights its the switch, if not its a blown bulb in the dash or a
dodgy wire

Recently done idle valve and just replaced throttle switch, I'll check adjustment on it and see if it makes a difference, might not have set it right

ES idle speed

Had the rough idle, fixed that Was OK for a couple of days then it all went a bit wierd, idles fine at 850 to 950 most of the time but sometimes revs itself up to 1500 to 3000 and stays there until you tap the throttle pedal then all goes back to normal for a while until it all starts again. A couple of years ago I had a 1.8i Audi 80 that
did the same thing, turned out to be nothing more

Sorry, rough idle again Starting up cold it just cuts out unless you rev it a bit, once it's warm the revs go from up and down, usually from about 800 to 1200 but sometimes it just cuts out, once it's off idle it's fine though. Cleaned the idle valve, checked all the pipework, changed plugs, HT lead...
