The phosphor makes the bronze more resistant against chemical corrossion from the sulpher, but not for the full 100%. So on the long run the sulpher will eat away the copper in the bronze. It also prevents oxidation during the melting of the alloy and helps the liquifidation during the melting, so i...

From Wikipedia: Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc; the proportions of zinc and copper can be varied to create a range of brasses with varying properties.[1] In comparison, bronze is principally an alloy of copper and tin.[2] Despite this distinction, some types of brasses are called bronzes. Bras...

You mean the bars from the fuel tank? If yes it's supposed to be like that. If only the last two bars remain it means your on reserve, this also lights up the red warning light from range on the display.

Oil in the throttle body is coming from the carter ventilation. There's a hose coming from the oil seperator to the throttle body to burn off oil gasses from the carter to prevent them entering the atmosphere. If there's too much oil entering the throttle body (oil seperator dirty or too much carter...

The combustion chambers are of a completely different design. The 1.7 has the Heron type of combustion chamber. That means the combustion takes place in the piston head itself, so the head itself is completely flat. The 2.0 has the Partagee type of combustion chamber, combustion takes place partly i...

I think an injector is leaking after the long lay up.To run on it needs fuel, with contact off there shouldn't be any fuel to ignite. So try a bottle of injector cleaner on a full tank and take it on a long hard drive to free things up and to burn off any residu in the chambers. This of course after...

I think you should check the Lambda and it's connections. In the Howto part there's an excellent article from Johnturbo on how to test it.

Thanx everyone for the warm welcome to the forum. I will post pictures as soon as I'm allowed too. [quote]Any chance it is rebuild by 'TonCar' in Berkel&Rodenrijs?[quote] No, I'm rebuilding the engine by myself. I know the company though, it's got a good reputation amongst Volvo owners. My cars only...

The cable coming from the sensor consists of two wires 1 brown and 1 yellow. It changes from the connector under the battery box into a coax cable to the speedometer print. On the print there are 3 rows of six soldering dots. The ones numbered 6&12 are the ones from the coax cable. I had to resolder...

Could the leds be the ones on the switch? Nope, these switches aren't illuminated. In the digital clock there's only one 1,2W bulb, and that's for the clock itself. I've had an '86 ES but can't remember seat belt lock lights. It did have the grips with lights at the roof though. My '93S does have t...
