Useful to anyone?

Found this diagram in the fuse box next to the steering wheel the other week. No idea how rare it is, but just thought there may be someone somewhere to whom this is a lifesaver.

Re: 1988 Volvo 480 ES - A New Era Dawns

That looks like an old car-phone aerial to me... Are there any signs of one having been mounted in the car at some stage? I think the genuine Volvo ones were mounted on the left side of the dashboard but a likely place would also be the left hand side of the lower centre console. Any screw holes an...

Re: 1988 Volvo 480 ES - A New Era Dawns

Having examined the engine today, and following jamescarruthers' advice, I had a look at the throttle bodies, they are the ovoid shape with apparently means I have a B18E engine, good news as that was the engine I was after! https://i.postimg.cc/m2XvsLT7/IMG-3103.jpg a few other enigmas with the car...

Re: 1.7 turbo MAP sensor, where is it?

I think it is next to the fuse box on my '88 car, and is definitely in that section of the engine bay.
Hope this helps!

Re: Spotted in Norwich - new member perhaps

Need to bear in mind that the club info relates to the Netherlands. What we got was slightly different so possibly the bronze wasn't available over there. We got Paris Blue 2 or 3 years before they did. I'm sure Volvo's marketing people keep their fingers firmly on the dreaded fashion trends in eac...

Re: Spotted in Norwich - new member perhaps

Which colour is bronze? Is it 184 Silver grey Met? I don't remember seeing it on the colour charts on the main site
Excellent that another early car is found, another one accounted for is another one that can be supported!

I haven't measured exactly, but I would estimate that it was about 1.5 - 5cm thick, I already had the picture so I was not able to measure accurately, but I hope this helps you anyway though

Hope it Helps!

Re: starting but not running,

Could it be a MAP Sensor? I do not know much about the 2.0, but when I got my '88 car it would start and then cut out, when a new MAP Was fitted it started first time. Could that be it?

Re: 1988 Volvo 480 ES - A New Era Dawns

I got four 185/60R14 (H) (82) Avon ZT-5 from Black Circles (unfitted) for £138.70. They're pretty good: quiet and grip well I think it should be alright for the moment, but could be something to consider soon, how hard are they to find? Thank you very much for the offer though, I will get back to y...

Re: 1988 Volvo 480 ES - A New Era Dawns

Got back from the MOT yesterday, the long way around. Tested its practicality with a small supermarket shop with went well in the boot. The car drove very well, fast and chirpy, but could do with some new tires. Jobs for today are glass cleaning and investigating the speedo

Re: 1988 Volvo 480 ES - A New Era Dawns

I'll have a go at making a replacement at some point this week. Speaking of breakers, what became of the 87 lakes car? Good point! I'll call them tomorrow! Called in very late on Tuesday and the car owner has gone very quiet apparently. He wasn't well. Sounds about right from what I heard over the ...

Re: 218 Arctic Blue Metallic - Where do I get some?

Firstly, does your paint code have additional numbers after 218? For example, I think there’s at least 3 specific shades of Paris blue. Secondly, Metallics are never going to be fun to blend in.... there’s a definite art to fading it; there’s little thing like spraying through a hole cut in a preic...
