Re: Dark coloured 480, Glasgow Jim?

Not sure on the colour as it only registered with Jayne what it was as it went past, and I only saw it in the rear view. I think the thought process was "Oh, a car with pop ups, like a 480. Blimey, it was a 480".

Dark coloured 480, Glasgow Jim?

We passed a dark coloured 480 on the road between Milngavie and Glasgow on Tuesday afternoon. First one we've seen on the road for ages, was it Jim by any chance?

Re: RIP Steve - you'll be greatly missed

Only just found out via UK Saabs about Steve, I think I only met him three times, once at Lincoln meet, then he came over to my house I think for some parts. It was Christmas and we made the mistake of leaving Barney in the lounge with the tree. That was the end of our chocolate tree decorations. Th...

Re: 1999 Volvo C70 2.4T auto vert, £1095, Sutton Bridge

Having done some more research it seems the car has an ETM fault. This is a common issue and there is a company on the Volvo forums who will rebuild it for £110 plus p&p. If there's no interest I'll probably get it done and keep it.

Re: 1999 Volvo C70 2.4T auto vert, £1095, Sutton Bridge

Its a bit thirsty (25mpg), and has a bit of scuttle shake but I really like it to drive. Very comfortable as you'd expect from Volvo, and the 5 cylinder engine is a peach (when it's running properly).

Re: Agreed Value Insurance

I had our 480 with RH on an agreed value, but that was a limited mileage classic policy, not a daily driver policy.

Re: WANTED - stock Volvo 480, 1.7l, no turbo

I've got a 1989 1.7ES coming up for sale. It's only one former keeper and has done a genuine 30,000 miles from new. It's in need of some TLC but is solid. Currently tested until October and taxed until the end of October, I'm planning on getting a new test on it before sale. It's in white, with the ...

Re: Blue 480 Turbo on eBay...History anyone?

Think this car might have come from Long Sutton, saw it for sale a year or so back and thought the guy was asking too much. Told him so, and he wasn't impressed.

Did someone say reunion? Glad you're doing well Groomus, sorry to hear about Barney though. Still remember him sneaking in our lounge and snaffling the chocolate decorations from the Christmas tree! I keep getting tempted by another 480, wish I hadn't sold my green GT http://i93.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: How come... models...

Volvo seem to be good at confusing options lists. I think basically you could buy any spec of car and then hit the options list. So you can have someone who's bought an S and specced it up so that it has more toys than a standard ES. I recently bought an S70 saloon on an S plate. The car is the base...
