Trick to get around that problem
To make it simple to slide equipment in and out, what I do is keep a piece of wood in the car, long enough to fit between the back of the boot and the central compartment (which as you say is raised when the seats are down), and thick enough (ie: high enough from floor when put down) to just reach t...

Faulty Tacho/Speedo
Hi Guys, As some of you will know I bought a nice Black 480 Turbo recently to replace my ailing 480 ES that Rob Stewart now has. The turbo has developed a problem with the speedo and tacho working only intermittently. I understand this is a common problem with 480's though I never had it with my tru...

Hmmmmm 120mph?
Whoah Rob.
Never took her up to 120mph. In fact never tempted her past about 110mph. But she will cruise all day long at 105mph = 4,000 RPM. All day long, not so much as a hiccup!!
Don't thrash her for 15 mph eh?
Enjoy a straight 480ES, as it comes, no bollocks, she's diamond,
Cheers Geezah!!

Great Rob
I don't mond admitting I was sad to see her go. Gonna sound stupid, but as great as the new turbo car is, I love that car. And was well sad to let her go. I believe with a bit of time, care, love, and TLC etc that baby has a good many tears left. In fact I wouldn't be suprised if she outlasted the T...

Hmmmm
Not my experience with the 480 the Rob is taking. It started every single time without fail. Never let me down once in 6 years of ownership. I hardly had to do anything to it except the routine stuff. I would have to say that this is the second most reliable car I ever had. The most reliable was a 1...

Cheers

My Volvo 480
Hi, I finally found your profile here. You were talking to me about buying my 480. You offered me £75 etc etc. I have been mailing you but keep getting bounced mails. Do you still want the car? The seats etc are in great condition. (I see you were looking for replacements). I need to get this sorte...

Thanks
Hi Guys, I won't be able to make the meet in Wales I'm afraid. Thanks for the info on the squeak. It only seems to happen when the weather warms up. Especially when it's sunny. This makes me think it may be a rubber bush or similar expanding with the heat and rubbing. Also the car seems to have an i...

Would someone please take my 480 ES
Hi guys, Sorry to post twice on this, but I really do need to find someone to take my other 480 of my hands. Time is against me as I have only on street zoned parking with a permit for *one* car. I am managing to scam it at the moment to cover both but I can only do that for 7 days maybe a bit more....

WIll someone take my 480 please?
Hi Guys, Posting again in the hope that someone can take my 480 off my hands. She's in need of TLC, but could be restored with some time and a bit of money. Alternatively she would make for useful parts if someone wants to do that. Either way I need to get her off the street ASAP. She still has over...

Heh heh moon mobile :) Love it. I am planning to do just as you say as soon as I get a chance. I am going to have the engine oil/filter, air filter etc all changed too so I know when it was last done for sure. One thing that bothering me is this annoying squeak, rear drivers side wheel assembly. It ...

Superb :) Only thing is now my poor ailing 480 ES Lambda Sond needs a loving home. I piut the info on the for sale section if anyone is interested please let me know. Prefera...

A loving home needed for an ailing 480 ES
Hi guys, well I bought the 480 Turbo Auto I asked you all about. It's a corker, straight and true with all the right docs etc, and goes like a greased pig. Which means my trusty 1990 (Hreg) Red 480 ES Lambda Sond needs a loving new home with someone who has the time and know how to give her some TLC...

Anyway I go to see this car at midday today, so we'll see I guess. Maybe be driving it home later :) Which means my trusty 1990 (Hreg) Red 480 ES Lambda Sond may nee...

Matbat's 480
Hey thanks for the info on your 480, sounds like a beast. I'm not really looking to be so involved in the car in the way that this one sounds it would need. I mean what with all the mods etc it sounds to me like one for the real 480 bods. Whils I love these cars, my time only really allows me to be ...

Point taken Rob
I realise that now, being a newbie I figured maybe some people would only mainly look in one section so by posting in two I was hopeful of more responses. I was wrong. Sorry guys. Shant do it again.
