(before I couldn't se how fast i was driving in the night) I soldered about 5-10 pieces of cable between different solder joints and voila! Great! Thanks for the pics! They where not identic w...

Yes, I've been thinking about doing as you say, terrastudios. Take an instrument cluster from 440 for example. But the question is; are there any instruments with red/yellow connectors and an analogue speedo? Thats what I need basically...

I have parts from a 440, like fuel gauge, water temperature that I could put on the dash if i want to. But i like to keep it as much original as possible.

I'm not sure I'll manage to repair the wiring from left to right but I'll give it a try. Hope to fix the warning lights that are required. And then lets see if I can come up with a better solution later on. I got the additional circuitboard for the infocentre laying around. It does have the infocent...

I got the same problem on my turbo. I have to rev the engine hard every time i start the engine. If i don't - radio cutts of etc. and suddenly the engine will cut off. But if i rev the engine a single time before driving everything is ok. (except the battery warning light, not showing what it should...

I'm not sure if the pics were good enough, but as you can see the first pic is a closeup of the place where the screw should be. If you look closer, you see that the screw is already drilled by someone. (Previous owner) Despite that, the discs wont fall off! Must be lots of rust between the disc and...

Remove rear discs

Hi I was thinking about fixing my rear brakes... I'm going to replace the discs but I can't get rid of the old ones. The car is a -88 Turbo and should have discs with integrated hubs, but as far as I can see these have been replaced by a previous owner. Am I right or wrong? (see pics) I begin to thi...

Testing ECU

Hello I was going to do a test on the EZ210K ignition system on my '88 turbo. I followed the instructions in Haynes but it didn't help much. I'm supposed to get the plastic cover off from the multipin contact to be able to reah the pins from behind. And also to be able to see the numbers on the pins...

Solved problem

I felt I had to say that this forum and also the faq has been a great help getting my heater in order. I had the same problem with a bad solder joint in the VEM, as described in the faq. A couple of hours in the garage, and now I can drive my car without getting ice on the inside of the windscreen :...

I've checked the rear clusters, seems ok. I believe the problem is the rustholes. Can somebody confirm that water can be transported from the area around the antenna or the rear arches to the front and rear passenger footwell? Also a strange thing is that on the left side where the biggest hole is s...

Water!

I'm sorry to bring up this subject again... For the 99th time. But I have really big troubles with soaking wet footwell on left side (passenger side) of the car. Both rear and front. I can almost hear the rust eating the car from inside  I've read earlier items and checked the common spots for ...

I have now checked the alternator with a lightbulb as you suggested. The lightbulb glows with engine off, but doesn't with engine on. As it should be. ;) But unfortunately the problem isn't solved yet :( Because the alternator gives no power before I hit the gas pedal, and rev the engine over 3000 r...

Now I have solved the "problem"! What I from the beginning thougt where an electric water pump for cooling turbo after engine is off, is actually an accumulator for the AC. And the switch is the low pressure switch. Se pics from parts book (link below). The AC is not an aftermarket construction. It'...

OK, thanks, I'll try that. But don't you believe that there is a fault in the alternator, becasuse as I tried to explain earlier the alternator don't actually work before reving the engine over about 3000 rpm! I also believe that 14,0 volts isn't good enough! Shouldn't it be 14,6? I also noticed whe...
