FOR SALE - 1993 2.0i ES Met Black

Hi All, I've decided that the time has come to sell my ES. As you've probably seen on my other posts it has an idle problem although I've just taken it out for a quick blast and it doesn't seem as bad! I just don't have the time to look after the car these days and it's a shame to see it just sittin...

Classics of 2018 as seen in Practical Classics......

Has anyone seen this months Practical Classics?? They talk about classic cars on the future and I quote: "The Volvo 480ES is a better bet, however. Quirky, already quite rare, and with the Volvo reputation behind them I can see good survivors easily hitting the £1500-£2000 mark in years to com...

Have got idle valve and air flow sensor on order. If that doesn't do the trick I'm thinking could it be a problem with gaskets around the inlet manifold or lambda sensor? Would my car (1993 2.0i ES) have a lambda sensor? I haven't got the green lambda light on the dashboard like I used to have on my...

WANTED - Cooling parts

Does anyone know any breakers in the South East that are breaking a 480??? I am after the tube that runs from the idle control valve to the air inlet pipe (bit that goes between air filter box and throttle body) and also the sensor. Basically any parts that could have an air leak in them which is ma...

I'm wondering... could it be the sensor on the tube that goes from air filter box to throttle control sensor??? Disconnected the sensor and it made no difference. On a similar vein does anyone know anywhere in Sussex/Kent that is breaking a 480? I've just tried every number in the yellow pages and n...

Ok this is really bugging me now. Haven't been able to touch the car since November due to having an op. Now better and can look at the car! I've replaced the throttle position sensor with one from eBay. When I disconnected the original sensor and started the car it made no difference. I've changed ...

Staying away at the moment - been signed off work since the 20th November... My 480 still has the problem with high idle & throttle that sticks when you put your foot down.. have got a new throttle position sensor that hopefully might solve it - only wish that I could get out and fix it!!!! Missing ...

Thanks guys I'll have a look when it eventually makes it back here although the tubes all look OK. Also the engine bay hadn't been touched (it did it after going around a roundabout!)

Idle very high / throttle sticking....

Hi All, Not sure whether to put this down as idle problem or throttle sticking..... Basically did 250 mile drive in the car yesterday and was sweet as a nut.. This morning I went and filled up the car with petrol and again driving fine until I came back - just as I was pulling back in to the hotel t...

So don't just sit back and take it - you should be as annoyed about LPG rises as you are petrol and diesel... You're right - LPG has gone up to 51.9 around here. We both can't get out of using our cars as we both travel over 300 miles a week to get to work to earn decent wages.... The Government ar...
