@jodalton - fancy a drag on me roll-up mate? ;p LHM was invented with one thought in mind... how can we annoy and irritate man kind as much as possible? Only issue with oil-change was forgetting to pick up a new drain-plug gasket first... and making do with the old one is a recipe for leaving spots ...

They're getting tough on old cars... but then at least it's only a couple of things. Herbie's first test - the only thing that passed was the braking system and that's only because I'd replaced the lot of it the week before... she sits in a garage with that MOT stuck to the windscreen (too large a c...

I wouldn't turn it away on a cold night on the Nurburgring... but in reality - when are you ever going to be able to make use of those 16 cylinders?... no... wait... I'm starting to sound like my Dad... I WANT ONE!!!! Grrrwwwll!!! It would be great fun nipping onto the M6 just after Spitfire roundab...

Black Diamond Predator pads all round on my solids. Squeak a bit but clamp on like a horny Kowala bear. Can't say anything about lifetime - but they've run 8000 miles now and still look substantial - and I don't treat them well. EBC are also undeniably superb - wouldn't touch FERODO with a barge pol...

The solenoid drags the starter motor gear onto the flywheel teeth and switches the power onto the motor. The motor is usually fairly indistructable - bar brushes or bearing failure - but the solenoids can burn out, melt from exhaust heat, get clogged up with carbon or oil or crap, burn through the m...

The cam rides in four or five? bearing shells - these can be replaced - don't know the cost - but bearings don't usually cost stupid money. Try running the car with the cam cover off and listening to each bearing shell. Can't be much more help I'm afraid. The cam shaft doesn't get oiled up till the ...

So many pretty cars to choose from... My answer though is a Group N-Spec Mitsu Lancer Evo V. I'd be happy to see any Aston Martin on my drive, or a Porsche 356 (with a spare engine for Herbie), a '67 Shelby GT500 with a super-charger scoop or a rolling prototype of the Jag F-Type concept car. More r...

Buy a 100amp auto-circuit breaker from Maplins and fit it between the battery positive and the rest of the car - then just turn the car off at the end of the day. Or... you have so many 480's... you could compare the current running through each circuit in the fuse box. Any discrepancies would at le...

If your ABS block of tricks has 6 pipes coming out of it - you have TRACS, if not you've just got the ABS computer <<with the blue sticker you can see in the first piccie>> that can process TRACS but won't do anything because it isn't bolted to the correct hardware. To test if TRACS is working or no...

My drivers side door got ripped out of my hand in a rather hefty gust a few months back. Snapped the door stay clean out and cracked a nice big dent in the door when it collided with the front wing edge... ouch! another job to do - reckon it'll hammer out from the other side thou >>> fingers crossed

When my time-machine is perfected <<the flux-capacitor needs some trimming work to fit into the DIN-sized hole in the dash board and I've sorted the current-supply issue... even with an Air-Con spec altenator I've not got enough for punching a hole into the space-time fabric>> I ...

I remember a while back people trying to sell electric fans to work as a potential 30BHP+ mod for all 440/460/480s... and every other car under the sun. If memory serves - they attempted to convert around 10amps of electrical current into some extra air flow... These ebay posts are of an amazingly s...
