You guys are right - they are bastards!
I had one of 'em kick my pop-ups and snap the hinge just because I had the audacity to leave them up the other night!
String 'em up I say!! :kill:
(God, I'm starting to sound like my Grandad, then again I am 35 next week! )

 Far too cheap? Well I guess I am selling her a little cheaply but I really need to move her on. I did think the same thing once I'd seen the photos cos they do make the old girl look good! I am obviously open to offers and the £300 is just the minimum I'm looking for really - I just need to ...

The nearside light is unfortunately flapping about in the breeze now! I'm going to try and secure it tonight.

As for the boot, it's a little damp but nowhere near pond status!

L Reg 480ES Paris Blue 2.0 for sale.

Hi, I'm having to sell my 480ES to make way for a more practical car! :( It's a 1994 2.0L ES in Paris Blue with half leather/Jacquard cloth trim. Has a few spares included too (brake pads, spare fog lights, spare door card etc) 6 months MOT and taxed till the end of Feb. Now she's not the prettiest ...

It's not the prettiest, but could be fab with a little TLC - just don't have the time. Make me an offer!! :D

I've just bought one from ebay for £18.50 and I'm now hoping it'll not be a piece of crap! My old one was working OK (retracting!) until the day before the alternator decided to pack in and the battery went flat on the way to work  I then had to abandon it to get to work on time (how inconve...

Thanks guys. I think I've sorted it now - the connections on the alternator were looking a little corroded so i've cleaned them up and greased them. I checked the voltage at tick over and was getting about 14.2V so I guess its not too bad now. I'm still going to strip the alternator and fit some new...

It's just died........again!!

Oh no! The bloody thing's just died again this morning, on my way to work! As I was driving along, the dash lights started dimming and the radio died. Then, the SRS and ABS lights started going on and off, so I turned off the headlights, radio, fan etc hoping that I could at least make it to...

Don't want to seem insensitive Dan, but how's your dad's car? Was that damaged too?
If it was then you'll certainly have to get the tranny van sorted!

Hiya Dan, So sorry to hear about all your terrible luck, and your Dad's. Bet it can't have been too good for your mum to see it either. Unfortunately, as you say, this type of incident seems to be a lot more prevalent these days (ee! it weren't like that when I were a lad!!) it's a common problem he...

I'd also say it's a pretty neutral car, although of all the 480's near me, I've only seen guys driving them recently. My mum's had 3 of them though, a red 1.7ES, a gunmetal turbo and my current one which I bought off her last year when she bought an 850 estate (cos her dog wouldn't get in the 480!) ...

Prices have just gone down quite a bit here - 89.9 for 95RON at Morrisons round the corner from me. Paid 95.9 for Optimax for my bike yesterday. It's a real bummer though, cos my clutch has just gone pop a couple of days before the prices dropped!! :badmood: I must say though, the old girl did well ...

If there's white smoke all the time, even after a long drive, I'd suspect a leaking head gasket  The coolant can leak into the cylinders and 'boil' off so giving steam out of the back. If this is the case then get it fixed sharpish before your oil goes milky and all the engine internals start r...

The one missing on mine is the other side of the boot.

I don't suppose anyone knows if these are still available from Volvo?
