So many questions, i am really curious about the details. I think your engine swap is really cool and very specia...

Re: Even more idle problems
Idle problem solved. Car had to go for MOT so i let the dealer take care of it. Turned out that they cleaned the throttle body and re-adjusted something on the inside, i always thought you could not adjust anything on these throttle bodies, i have no clue what but going to find out when i have time....

Re: Black 019
Damn that looks good. Just plain black, maybe even better than the metallic black. Still re-thinking if i do a new color for my ES, is Paris Blue now but have to attack some rust in summer (front windscreen) and considering total respray or else go for partial in Paris Blue (love that color too) and...

Re: My new 480
Contacted the garage that did the chipping in 1996 and it turns out that they modified the print with a 3.3V zener diode and a 10KOhm resistor to get rid of the psi limit. At the time of my volvo modif they did indeed not have rica chips according to the garage, they shared garage with Rica guys. So...

Re: Even more idle problems
Hi Yozman, I cleaned the idle control valve overnight, checked for leaks no result. Still 1800 rpm. I tried to find the brass valve on the throttle body but could not see anything that resembled a brass valve. I got a 2 l ES do these have this brass valve, if so where is it located ? Was raining tod...

Re: central locking probs
I had similar problems with my drivers door a couple of years ago. Turned out to be a faulty dip switch in the door lock mechanism. This upset the car in knowing if the door was locked or not and opened or closed the passenger door and alarm at will. (favourably in the middle of the night pissing th...

Re: Even more idle problems
Hi All, Long time. I got a idle problem too. On my 1995 480 ES the idle is stuck at 2000-1800 rpm. At the garage we did a quick check and found the number 2 and 3 wire broken from throttle body valve switch and since the mechanic had no direct time to replace plug or solder wires i decided to do mys...

The new spoiler looks very good! Hhhmmm, how would it look if you painted in white Volvo on the mesh? Mesh is made from polished aluminium so the paint doesn't want to stick to it. So the black paint is coming off agin  If the mesh is aluminium try to find a shop that can anodize the mesh, b...

If its just your speedo that's gone - try replacing the flexible 5 wire cable + connector that hooks the speedo module up to the dashboard PCB. It was knackered on mine and the speedo jumped in and out of operation. Queston: Is this flex cable connected to the five pins that make connection if you ...
