or a socket (hex) to the same size as the locking nut, hammer in and undo. in my case i did try that but would not grip onto the volvo ones as part of the outer wall had come off and the socket couldnt grip, also could get the socket deeper back onto an unbroken part as the bolt hole was tapered. d...

well as im aware the turbo's on the 480's are in the same place as the 850's (by the firewall). so if you were starting from cratch you could get a solid pipe made that runs from the turbo over the engine into the top ic connection. and then get one from the bottom of the ic that goes straight in th...

ok, i know this is late but its another good way to remove a broken locking nut. i had this happen to an 850. basically start with a small drill bit and drill through the middle of the bolt, then increase bit size and keep drilling the hole. when you get to a size that is near the size of the thread...

Maybe I am being stupid, but...... reverse flow intercooler? Whats that? on the 850 t5's (1995+) the pipe came from the turbo (by the firewall) and then went over the engine and down to the IC's lower connection. a pipe then came from the top outlet of the ic into the TB. I was a sortof figure of 8...

the direct cause of fade is down to your fluid and pads, get some good pads - ferodo ds performnace are a good option aswell as the mintex 1144 compound pads (used by the police t5's). then get some dot 5.1 fluid and change it regulary. bigger discs will help with fade as they run cooler, another pl...

well when i say police spec, i mean the size rather than the spec of the disc (material etc). there are actually very easy to come by as after the police had em on their 850's, volvo started using them on the 70 series cars. so upgrading the 850 is easy and you just buy the discs from the 70 series ...

If you getting judder then your warping your discs, so you either need to somehow keep em cooler or move to a bigger meatier disc. maybe you should look at the turbo brakes. another option which i have thought might work is to get a new set very hot so they warp (try not to warp em tho), and once th...

Hmmmm, for what my views are worth.... you guys that love your 480's are lucky in a way bcos you can get a late good cond turbo for around £1000-1500 (that what i see em going for) with all the toys (leather etc). so getting the best version of you dream car for that price is nothing. I would cut y...

Jaytee, if your brakes don't feel amazing, do a full fluid flush first. be warned though - I am reliably informed that the 480 braking systems contain components that are not designed to handle DOT 5.1 fluid - eventually it will go through the caliper and/or master cylinder seals. Use a good qualit...

trans coolant just ATF with some lubegard. The bumper will still go back on :D should keep it cool  I'm also thinking a oil pump but the pumps cost well over £100  I might post on turbobricks asking if anyone has some good ideas of who sells cheaper options. nice one, as long as you h...
