After I resoldered the dashboard, everything looked just fine. However, the other day I noticed that the only two mechanical parts in the dashboard; the two km counters in the speddometer, had stopped working. Does anyone have a suggestion before I (again) take out the dash?

Martin, check the bypass in the throttle valve. bbf confirms the resistance, so do not change your idle valve. OK. Sorry. I was relating it to your paragraph about the gaskets. Have you ever tried to measure the resistance between the two outer pins?

When i had this problem i got a toothbrush and cleaned the pin end out completely and the other end out with petrol and it did the trick. Leave it to soak if you got the time.
