At the minute, the car i was going to get the bloke has just sold it before i got there, despite telling him...

Joining the other side

Well, its been great whilst i have been here, but its time to call an end to the stripped out volvo that i was loving, clutch number 3 has gone bang, gearbox number 2 isnt sounding healthy, so im calling it a day, if I cant get it reliable on the road, there is no way it is going to live on the trac...

At that point mail order is quiet easy as you know what sizes you require.

You could use 2p pieces for the first few miles of your journey, and then the AA recovery service for the rest.

What was it with pandas and tappets, they really did need them checked regularly, i know the 4x4 had special profile cams to help them get a bigger torque figure, and i used to adjust those at least once every six months. That 4x4 of mine used to go anywhere, awesome little car, shame they rust so b...

Or the lazy way. is to replace the cambelt at the same time, measure all the clearances, pop the cambelt off, pop the cam out, measure all the shims, you may find some swap round, and then put required shims in, refit camshaft, refit cambelt.

Normally a set of pads for me at least every 8 months, worst is a set of pads in two months, but that was 2 track days and some very hard road driving.

Call me paranoid, but i usually change the brake fluid with every change of pads.

Its very scary when the pedal goes straight to the floor, managed this a few times in the puma, once on a track day, its amazing how it helps your lap times :D

The calipers will fit, just make sure the offset of the wheels is enough to clear the calipers, there was a thread about this the other month. I have a set of turbo calipers sat in my kitchen, for another mad part fo the project, measured the piston, and now i am saving for a new pedal box, and will...
