Crikey! I didn't know they went for that money.

I gave mine to naked "I crash cars" monkey for free.

I used it to transport 250 house bricks without dirtying the carpet, worked well. Otherwise if you have a muddy dog, it would be good, although poor thing would slide around!

Sorry I did his trick, start a thread and then not return! This last week has gone super quick!! Yeah, I remember his parents, his dad insisted writing a reciept to say he's buying it in as seen condition with no warranty - what a guy! I can't believe it, so you saw it (in a skip?!) what had happene...

Now I thought I would be the young one at the Volvo forum, being only 24. Instead I think I'm one of the older members (and one without even a 480 now!). There is obviously a very strong following for these from young people, and hopefully the better end of youth driving ;) Wonder how long 'til one ...

I noticed that too - Checking out what happened to the car I spent most of my spare time last christmas doing up, I checked through monkey's posts and there is a lack of replying! Oh well - anyway guys - I feel like a bit of a sell out and a wimp, but I feel like having spare time this summer, and I...

Thought I'd come and visit, I moved last November, and I didn't get internet installed, so haven't done much surfing. I kept a spreadsheet on the various bits and bobs I spent on the 480, and it totalled £1300 and that didn't include buying new tools for doing the work, and consumables, so add anot...

I have considered it, and no  ...but feel free to ask me next week, I may have changed my mind  I'll phone up a dodgy garage tonight, one I phoned yesterday said they'd never done it before, but would be prepared to for £25/hour, expecting it to only take an hour. Just would prefer to gi...

I guess I just don't have the stamina of some of you guys keeping these things on the road. It's just been one thing after another, money spent and car unusable. I know a lot of you have other cars to use, but it's not practical - it was for my girlfriend, and she needs a reliable car. This one has ...

I thought a bit of pipe would be ok. But wanted to check the idle wouldn't go funny when removing the lambda sensor. What should I do with it?

Also - as it's a 91 - does it actually need a cat? I thought it would still pass mot without due to age?

Thanks.

Cat making noise - what should I do

My Cat has started making a rattling sound, like there's something loose inside. Didn't make a difference to driving at first, but now, it feels like the engine struggles under load, and at high revs, it's still smooth, but just a bit gutless, so my guess is the rattling is causing some extra fricti...

Please buy my car!

People, I have now moved house, and already bought a new car, that means 3 cars and one parking space - something needs to give!! If anybody wants my car - phone me on 07977 998 328 with a bid, I've spent £1200 on it now, I know I'm not going to get that much for it, so somebody is going to get a b...

If anybody is interested, the breakers want £100 for the ECU from the L-reg turbo.

Have no idea if this is expensive or not, probably a lot to buy "just as a spare"! - I am going over to get the CEM tomorrow, so I can pick it up if anybody wants it.

PM me

I got confused with the dual-subject, I got lost when people started talking about ECU's, but re-reading, I understand. I don't need the ECU, mine is fine. I'll ask how much they want for the ECU from the Turbo (which I assume will be a blue-sticker affair), and anybody wanting it, is more than welc...

Yeah, I was thinking whether the 440 would have the same part, which would make it easier, but do they have all the features?

The breakers want £47 for the CEM from an L-reg 480 Turbo. And of course they can't guarantee it's going to work, so something else could be broken. Opinion anybody? am I likely to get one cheaper? Would others pay that much for one? Does anybody know if its possible to repair the CEM with some sol...

The volvo garage didn't know what CEM type it was, but it is rectangular with a corner missing.

So my question - if I find one the same shape - is it going to be the same?

What the hell is a blue / orange one? Is this the same as CEM II / CEM III or this something to do with NA/Turbo? Does the CEM control the engine management too? (does it contain the ECU?) or is it just for the funny things the car does like dimist for 12 mins, and put seats on when cold and wipe th...

There is a 94 L Turbo in the breakers - that would have the same CEM then?

they'll probably want a few bob for it though. Volvo garage said £180. I don't fancy paying that much.
