Is that Blue 480 cabriolet from CP Motors?
Curious how they built it seeing that, whilst a number of test vehicles were built, the Volvo designed cabrio parts were never sold.

hi there Sorry to dampen your plans but the modification requires hardware upgrades too. For comparison, see the P1 volvo ie C30, S40, V50 Flexfuel models (Ford-Mazda MZR engine, doesnt seem volvo was involved in the design but Im still looking into that) and the Volvo 5 cylinder 2.5FT (thats a pure...

hi, With regards the fact the 480 cabrio was ready for launch and that a series of cars was built for dealers etc this sounds like a series of pre-production cars being made available to dealers or press ahead of a cars full launch. Whilst this could just be a fleet of handbuilt cars/prototypes for ...

Clarification about the red 480 owned by Guy Vermant, no roll bar. Pics as above. He writes "It’s indeed an EBS/ACT car. It was privately financed and then when finished it was presented to Volvo to come to a cooperation as this company did with Renault. But Volvo decided to choose the other ...

hi thanks for the very interesting clarification. I've got a pic of Geoff Wight and a guy from ASC in a silver 480 cabrio and a pic of a white 480 cabrio being tested in Arizona. Interesting to find out if the CP Motors car is one of the 30 production vehicles you refer to or a converted standard 48...

Hello I've also tried to find out about the blue cabrio from CP Motors. From seeing the car it seems to be an aftermarket conversion. That said, the roll bar and rear panels are bespoke so that's interesting. Being RHD is curious though. Could be a survivor of one of the genuine volvo cabrio prototy...

Hi Thanks for the correction. This thing about Daf/Van Doorne taking Volvo to court was something I heard a few years ago. From the post above it seems the g/box was sourced direct from Van Doorne Transmissions. So what was the dispute between Volvo and VDT then? Was it centred on the g/box not bein...

CVT...now that's interesting. The 440 came with CVT for a while but Daf sued volvo over the use of CVT saying they sold the rights to the variomatic CVT system to volvo with the 300, 66 and 46 series cars (46 was sold as Daf model by volvo, 66 got extensive upgrades to become the volvo 66) but...Daf...
