I'd suqest getting a mechanicaly sound 480 turbo and rebuilding the engine as your swapping it. plus you get alll those spare parts you will need later on.

Get a 1.7 Turbo engine and drop that in or just get a 480 turbo anyway.

Having a similar problem. I think its got summit to do with rust pushing on the rubber seal, could be a possability.
