Re: Bilstein B4's

They were out of stock of fronts when I ordered mine and made a new batch. Hope that gives you some confidence.

White E-reg M11 15/APR

There can't be many E-reg ES's left and by great coincidence I drove past a white one on the M11 yesterday afternoon (Monday 15 April). I was heading North in the red one and the white one was going south. ‎ Possibly E711... but it was a very quick pass and I don't know if they saw me.  It did make ...

I bet that pint of custard came in handy.

Re: Big pop some smoke oil leak

Could it be the oilfilled rear engine mount ruptured and put its oil on the exhaust? Have you checked the dipstick to see if engine oil really has made a bid for freedom?

Re: Launch car Found!

You're looking at the pop-up light side covers.

To contrast, this car has the more common black ones:

Re: Launch car Found!

Early cars had their headlamp covers painted as standard from the factory. I think one colour got painted covers throughout production... Maybe white but I'm not 100%

Re: Launch car Found!

I agree about the mirrors but unfortunately the driver's side one got hit recently on a narrow road and he only‎ had later ones spare. I think he plans to get the original style back on. I also agree on the plates. It is difficult to get the old font but is doable if you order them ‎Platesforcars.co...

Re: Subframe mounting

Wait, you say it is a gearbox mount‎? As in one of the two at the front of the car?   If so, you can buy these from Poland. I would recommend replacing two at the front as a pair as these replacements are stiffer.‎ The front two ARE AVAILABLE: ‎http://www.ebay.pl/itm/372489522475 There are two rear ...

Re: Subframe mounting

This is oil filled and very difficult to get hold of. Do your homework on here with search. I'd recommend getting one second hand from a late 440/460 that is being scrapped. You won't get a new one as far as we know here

Re: Engine oil

I don't really know mate, sorry. A quick Google shows them as very cheap filters which Euro Car Parts slap a once-good name on to (Euro bought the name)

Re: Engine oil

I think if you put your finger inside the hole on the bottom you should be able to feel a little spring loaded flap or something. Basically it stops the filter draining it's oil out when the engine isn't running. Cheap filters don't have this‎; the Volvo ones did so it's generally accepted that it's...

If it is 10W40 semi-synthetic it will be fine.

Does the filter have a non-return valve?

Re: Back in the fold!!

Brilliant James & many thanks Alan - Since I'll have to take out the existing pins anyway I will have a play around with turning them upside down before replacing them with new items from Volvo. Now, what is the process for taking the pins out - I presume I'll need a drift / punch and a handy assis...

Would be more inclined to look at worn hinge pins.

Open the door and get some one to lift and lower to see which one is worn.
Pin part number is 3416207 and can be ordered through your Volvo dealer. I just ordered some.
