Thanks guys, to be honest my 480 is sorn now at the mo, so this is in the growing list of nice jobs after I sort out the essential ones! If anyone can recomend a trimmer in the north west that sounds like the way I might go.
Many thanks

celibration seat swap
Hi All,
My drivers side leather seat is looking a bit tired, has anyone tried suing the leather panels from the rear or passeger seats to repair the drivers side? I think the side bolster may be different?

ebay covid listing issuues- stalking- volvodoc
Hi All, Long time no post! Has anyone else had troubles with covid / ebay? I had a couple of buyer collect transactions in December that then could not be legally collected during lockdown 3. I am no longer able to contact the other party as ebay doesn't allow the sending of personal phone / email ....

Ohh, Sylvia 440/460 has a different hatch seal? I think someone suggested a fiat tipo seal too?

Ok, not wanting to add to the suffering of others, but sealing must stop at least some water?

Matt, that looks incredible, I'm glad this has worked so well in practice as well as in theory! I'll keep you all posted

Re: vinyal wrapping a tatty dashbord surround?
I like that but I'm going to press ahead with my experiments! I'm going to fill, sand flat then try a mat black paint, and if that fails a mild sand and the wrap! Will keep you posted!

Alternative to sealing the rear ligts?
Ive just discovered "Noise insulating rubber windshield strips" designed to press and grip into the gap where the windscreen meets the dashboard, perhaps these could be re-purposed to fill the gap between the bodywork and the rear lights, encouraging water to run out over the top rather than, well, ...

vinyal wrapping a tatty dashbord surround?
I was thinking about using fiberglass to fill the various breaks and cracks in my old black dash surround, smoothing out and then wrapping with a mat black vinyl? Aiming for a factory standard finish! Has anyone tried this? Aside from melting the hole thing I think the main problem may be around the...

Re: alternative engines?
I'm sure we have all quite fancied a clio williams engine at some time or another ;-) but was looking at the less glamorous 'F engines' stuff from early megans and espaces would give me a 16v head and a sensible boost in performance and economy, but it would become a frankenvolvo :-( I guess you can...

Well, I could still do with a good 2.0 engine & box, do you still have the lowish millage one? If so how much are you asking?

Re: rear drains, where does the water come from?
I'm thinking of making a fiberglass 'pannel-cum funnel' to go in this area, and just chop out any of the surviving metal that may be in this area, any idea of the dimensions so I can perhaps stick it in place from the underside?

alternative engines?
Hi there I'm looking at replacement engines for my 2.0 celeb, and obviously my first choice would be to go like for like and get another 2.0 from a 480 or 460 etc. But as these are getting a bit rare I was wondering about perhaps a Renault F series engine? Probably not from a clio williams! What extr...

rear drains, where does the water come from?
Hi All, Am I right in thinking water from the sun roof makes its way out the car down a gutter that runs down the rear metal pillar (to the side of the hatch) and out in that little pocket behind the boots plastic storage boxes? I ask because this is the rusyest bit of my 480, and I dont have a sun ...
