Re: Parts for Sale

Hi James! Sorry, the car pockets went with the car as a total-loss in October. The only good part of the car was the engine - worst 480 I've had :badmood:

Regards, Rob.

Parts for Sale

Hi all! As Celebration 293 is no longer in my possession ( total loss caused when recovering the vehicle by the pick-up truck, after the steering lock went!) I have several items for sale. It seemed idiotic to put the items straight on eBay when the majority of the people who may be interested are r...

Nose Cones x2

Hi all, Been sorting through my larger spares and have two nose cones to dispose of. 1. Dull red (removed from my original ES) 2. Paris Blue & horrible matt black (from my rather dead GT) Both are in reasonable condition and can obviously be resprayed. If anyone is interested, I am willing to part w...

Re: boot bolts

Snap! I'm doing roughly the same thing in the same area! The two bolts attach to the chassis cross-frame member. Removing them will not affect anything, you still have four more underneath before anything falls off :D

Re: Fuel Filler Pipe (95 Celebration)

Thanks again Alan. looks as though I had better follow your advice! The whole of the rear suspension has been removed already excluding the cross-frame member, which will have to come out as well to clear the fuel lines. Unfortunately, I didn't anticipate the rust, etc., so the fuel tank is about ha...

Re: Fuel Filler Pipe (95 Celebration)

Many thanks for your reply. However, am trying NOT to remove the tank or open the fuel lines. Just need to move the filler hose to a more convenient (and safe) location without disconnecting. Can mount a flame trap ( large metal plate, plus fire retardant cover) when I start the welding just in case...

Re: online petition for 25 year rolling VED exemption GOVT r

Signed with pleasure. :P About time they brought back the 25 year rule. Although it may be academic if I can't fix the rust at the butt-end, the car may become someone's 21 year-old fridge!

Fuel Filler Pipe (95 Celebration)

Hi all! I'm trying to restore #286 and have found that the "Rust Worm" has eaten a part of both rear arches, under the rear bumper by the vents (welding job). My problem is removing the fuel filler pipe and evap return container without disconnecting the system from the fuel tank. I just need (I thi...

Wanted Engine Stone Guard/Splash Guard

Please, has anyone got an engine splash/stone guard they would like to sell? I am happy to pay carriage costs. I did ask Glasgowjim last year but I think he had problems at work time-wise and wasn't able to assist :cryhard: At the moment, the car (Rollerskate, as the kids call it!) is off-road for a...

Re: Air Conditioning - Accumulator/Dryer - availability?

Just a quick note regarding the ebay supplier I mentioned. "Youwantwhatwehave" They appear to have a good reputation and refunded my money within 24H. So if you head that way, you shouldn't have too much to worry about - except fitting of course :hopping:

Re: Glasgowjim's spares list

Hi Jim, wondered if you had managed to find the stoneguard in your shed? If it's anything like mine, you need a metal detector and climbing gear :D

Re: Air Conditioning - Accumulator/Dryer - availability?

Just had my Celebration aircon done. Just in case, I had explored the possibilities of spares and came up with the following which should be a direct replacement for the receiver/dryer: "Delphi Dryer, Air Conditioning Receiver for Volvo TSP0175171" Have a look on ebay - the suppliers had a slight pr...

Re: 95 Celebration Aircon dismal failure

Managed to sort the aircon. Complete purge & vacuum. The recovered fluid was minimal :? However, no leaks - vacuum level good, temperature at main vent - 9.5c. Outside airtemp 20c. Finally got a smile going :hopping:

Re: Glasgowjim's spares list

Hi Jim, Noticed on your spares list that you have "an under engine plastic cover". If this is the stone guard, I would be very interested! Is it possible to arrange carriage/post and how much please?

Re: mystery roar

Had the same on my previous Celebration. Sounded like a Ferrari on full chat inside. Outside just a wee bit noisy. This occurred three weeks after fitting a new back box; the only noticeable symptom was a bit more water vapour condensing from the exhaust. It turned out to be a loose baffle at the ba...
