Re: Diagnostic codes

Thanks Jim!
This code list seems to be more extensive and complete

You may expect more questions from me because this 2.0 ltr engine
with options airco, abs (and traction control?) is all new to me

Where can I find the diagnostic codes for a '95 2.0 ltr engine?
Seems the existing ones only goes up to '93 models

thanks in advance,

Thx BKF_UK I'm in doubt, because the engine idles fine and runs sweet No problems at all, except while at MOT early this year, CO was too high The MOT guy was easy, while I promised him to look after, he let go Afterwards I was'n able to test the lambdasensor, the connection appeared to be well hidd...

When turning the lights off, one pop up (right hand) won't shut down I then turn it down by hand Next time I turn the lights on, both come up, but one stays up when turning lights off again Moreover, mainlight lefthand side goes off when pulling the stalk (bulb is OK) Can anyone shed a light inhere?

As I suffered from alarm going on at random, I dismanteled the keybarrel as per HOWTO see: http://volvo480.dragons.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18110 Furthermore I couldn't discover any bulb or LED in the small corner behind that triangel place other than the microswitch, which trigger both the bulb...

Just been to the Volvo dealer to get me the special Volvo oil
The man told me , to be sure, put the Volvo oil in, as off factory they put this oil in
Moreover the oil doesn't need a change, just fill it up.
Unless you won the lottery. It's €13/ltr and you need 3.4 ltr
for an empty gearbox

Filling up gearbox oil on a 2.0 ltr

After a repair of a leaking driveshaft hose (gearbox side)
I tried to fill up the gearbox of this 2.0 ltr engine
It took me 1 hour to pour 1 ltr in
What am I doing wrong?
A small rectangle plastic box seems the only place to fill
Is there another quicker and easier method?

so I see you can't to what we do in here, just pay them and they'll let you pass :hopping: Took it to another MOT station and they pass it through (at double the price...) You can take the lambda out and clean it with brake cleaner, you can also test it's resistance to see if it's dead or not... ;)...

So, okay that's clear enough
But will the CO turn OK after replacing the lambda sensor with a new one?
Or does the CO need re-adjustment?
If so, where can that be done? I can't find any adjustment screw on the throttle valve housing

Here in Holland -20C was recorded in the south of Holland
Any dutch 480 owner from that area?
I live near the coast where max. temp. was -5C
Car started and drove like normal. I guess Volvos feel well at these operating temps ;-)
