Re: Infocenter temp sensor
Depends which temperature you are referring to, Water, Oil or Air. The outside air temperature sensor is attached to the back of the air intake grille below the front bumper. It can be removed easily by unclipping and unplugging. Resistance varies with outside air temperature. Should be around 900 o...

Heater blower
Just a simple question. My heater blower switch has 4 positions. Is the first position 'off', or should there be 4 speeds?

Re: aircon drive belt
I recently replaced the aircon drive belt on my 480 Celebration. The best way to access it is via the driver side front wheel arch. I removed a Hutchinson belt marked 4K582 and replaced it with a Gates belt marked 4PK580. This indicates a belt with 4 peaks and an overall length of 580mm. The length...

Re: Instrument cluster/speedometer repairs
I have a spare 480 Celebration dash cluster that I would like checked out before I swap it over. Also, the mileage needs to be reset to the figure currently shown on my car . I can send a copy of my current MoT to verify the mileage. Where should I send the cluster? Barrie Jones, Okehampton, Devon.

How to change the nearside inner driveshaft boot
My gearbox has a slight weep of oil through the passenger side driveshaft gaiter. Apparently the left driveshaft doesn't have a seal, so the gaiter is the only thing that keeps the transmission oil inside the gearbox. Is it difficult to change it myself, or should I extract the entire driveshaft an...

Wanted - 480 Celebration Alloy Wheel
I have a 480 Celebration with standard 15 inch alloy wheels.
I would like a full-size spare wheel.
The Volvo part number is 461243.
That number should be cast into the hub (hidden by the hubcap).

Re: Instrument cluster/speedometer repairs
I have a 480 Celebration. Everything works fine apart from the odometer. I bought an instrument cluster from a dealer who assured me it was fully working. I fitted it and found that the info centre only displayed some dashes, so I put my old one back in. (It was not just a blown illumination bulb). ...

In need of some small interior parts
Does anybody know where I can get a couple of small parts:
1) The grey plastic knob for opening the bonnet. (By the passenger's left knee).
2) One black plastic turnbuckle clip. The space saver spare wheel cover uses two, but I only need one.

Re: Oil pressure
Thanks for the thought, but the oil pressure gauge and voltmeter were both standard on the 2 litre Celebration model.
I need to find and identify the sender.
A simple oil pressure switch only has a single connector, whereas a gauge sender would be bigger and it would have 2 wires going to it.

Mile counter not working
I have just bought my 4th Volvo 480. This one is a 1995 Celebration. When driving it home I noticed that the mile counter and trip recorder were not working. The recent MoT certificate confirms that the mile counter was working until very recently. Please could you describe in a little more detail e...

Oil pressure gauge - location of sender?
I have just bought my 4th Volvo 480, a 1995 Celebration model with an oil pressure gauge. The gauge shoots up to MAX the moment I turn the ignition key on, before starting the engine. This is either a faulty sender or a broken wire. Can anybody tell me where the oil pressure sender is located on the...
