Depends on modellyear, there were various pairs: plastik - metal: purple - brown(or purple) orange - orange maroon - maroon blu...

Ok, first:
Let me guess, the 440 has blue and green ecus. if yes, put both to the 480 and try.
If not, then I am going to the details. It will be very very long..

Re: Which is the best all round 480??
Turbo > all. Well that's cutting corners there mister! ;) I've had all three engines and my latest engine is the 1.7Turbo in my Collection. It won't leave since it's rare (a Turbo Collection with moonroof), but to be honest I must say that the 2.0 offers the smoothest ride. The 1.7Turbo i...

Re: Turbo problem
Well, the clusters are ready, now only I have to travel home, and put them back in. Hopefully next week I can visit the turbo-guy.
Kev, in my case, unfortunately not the valve. I checked it.

Re: Startup problem B18FT, after engine swap
As far as I know, with Turbos the fuel pump starts only when the starter motor, because of the higher fuel pressure.glasgowjim wrote:no when you turn the ignition key on you should hear the pump activate then turn the ignition fully on to turn the str. motor

Sometimes my stupidity is amazing. I got an appointment for the turbo guy finally, but I could not go, because in the meantime I took out the rear clusters and gave it to a friend for an additional lacquering, and they will be ready only on Monday...

Re: Turbo problem
Thanks.
If the idle is little dodgy, it doesnt matter. I was talking about serious idle problems, like I had (going between 400- 1300). So, no worries.
Pictures will follow, after I finally get an appointment from the garage.

Re: Turbo problem
Your welcome. :) As for the damage: it could be some contamination or the wear. Dont forget, these cars are at least 16 years old, and like all mechanical part, turbos need maintenance after a while. And as I saw, you have Richmod, wich makes the turbo boosts almost three times than normal. Mine had...

Re: Turbo problem
oh, and one thing: the trick is not to replace the things in the turbo, its easy. the hard part is to reposition and rebalance everything. without it, it will die again soon. and this can be done only with serious and expensive machinery..

So to speak, all the time. :) No smoke, boosts like hell, but still, there is that sound. According to the specialist, it can be many different reason: First, the blades of...

3190km done. the car runs very well, 0-100km/h under 7 seconds, very agile, the amount of time between 100 and 200km/h is ...hmm.. not much. :) the guys did awesome work. Because the engine is renewed, it is time for an oil change, hopefully I can manage it in the near future. I shortened the "to do...

Re: Starting problems -- PLEASE HELP !!
the maf connected to the rubber tube coming from the air filter housing. you can check easily if its work, or not: - start the engine. - unplug the cable going into the maf. - if the idle starts moving, or strugling, or something happens, then it works. (after a few seconds, the computer will correc...

Re: Starting problems -- PLEASE HELP !!
According to your informations (replug the sensor corrects the fuel amount) the wiring should be ok, because it corrects the cold mode (too much fuel). Obviously during the start only in cold mode gets the engine the right amount of fuel. Somehow the injectors dont work properly during start. (Tomor...
