Re: Rotor Arm question

No, it's a brand new one. I guess I'll just fit it and see! Alas I don't have the Bug any more. I miss it loads though, but not the lack of power. I had it for about 10 years, apart from quite a bit a welding needed to be done it generally was a super reliable little car. I had loads of fun in it. ...

Re: Volvo 480 Turbo side stickers

March 1, 1989 = first date of registration (sorry thought it was a 1988 first). A Volvo Switzerland Club member told the owner, that this was a very rare version but that the stickers are Volvo originals, but I've never seen these stickers at all.

EDIT: But I must say, they look cool :D

Re: Rotor Arm question

Yeah, thanks....I know I'm a girl, but I do know what a rotor arm does ;) I only asked because the plastic is very different to the plastic on the ones I have used before. Thanks for your replies :hopping: You're indeed right, looks very different from a new replacement part (replace it on my 480 a...

Re: Very heavy stuttering above 2200 RPM

Thanks againg for your hints. My comments weren't meant as an offence of any kind. I didn't happen at high revs, but "something" happend when the engine had high revs and after gear change I had the stuttering always above 2200, no matter what gear, except, as said, when there is no gear in. So it s...

Re: Volvo 480 Turbo side stickers

Has to be a rare factory fit (it's an early 1988 Turbo) or custom made. But the car is a bit above my non-existing budget anyway :tomato:

Re: Very heavy stuttering above 2200 RPM

Thank you Robou for your hints. I thought compression was fix and independent from engine load? Isn't that related to cylinder and piston size and movement? It only happens when gear in.... which means to me, that under load, a sensor provides wrong signals to the ECU and/or Fenix ignition control/c...

Re: Rotor Arm question

Hmm I think (correct me if I'm wrong) the rotor arm is the same for all models. To me it looks good. It's basically the metal slider you gotta be worried about if it doesn't make good contact with the 4 contacts in the distributor. Plastic part in the middle might look better, but as long as there a...

Re: Very heavy stuttering above 2200 RPM

Thanks a lot for your hints. Well just for clarification: I wouldnt even call it stuttering but rather "stop-start-stop-start".... so seems to tear the car apart! and it only happens when I got a gear in. Without gear in or clutch down, it's perfectly fine. I was thinking about the MAF, but am not s...

Volvo 480 Turbo side stickers

Hi all, I've just had a look at a nice turbo, from 1988 with black stickers over both sides reading "Volvo 480 Turbo". The owner said, this has to be a special edition, which seems to be really rare these days. As I've never seen a similar one before, I'm just curious, whether this is indeed a speci...

Very heavy stuttering above 2200 RPM

Dear all, Saturday, blue skies, why not go for a ride ( Volvo 480, 1.7 ES )? Well... I was accelerating in 2nd gear, up to about 5000 RPM then there was a wierd noise, as if the boost dropped for a second. I switched gear to 3rd and doom began. No matter what gear I had in, above 2200 RPM there was ...

Re: My newest purchase...

Well yeah, running costs would be more or less equal (i had a Alfa 33 before) but the problem is, that my 480 is in a shabby condition and would need restauration to be "only producing running costs" :cryhard: lot of broken parts, hot temp = no start etc. :badmood:
